“Groupon Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

My partner and I stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are very nice (the shower was fantastic) and the beds are extremely comfortable. The breakfast menu is extensive and all of our food was wonderful. All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable stay with very pleasant and attentive owners. Many Thanks! Graeme & Susan (Greenock, Scotland).

“Welcoming, relaxing stay over New Year”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

My partner and I stayed here over the new year as a last minute Hogmany trip. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. We were shown our beautiful room which had everything we needed including wardrobe, tea and coffee facilities, on-suite bathroom and TV. It was very clean with adequate space and a good radiator to heat the room for the time of the year.

The selection of breakfasts was brilliant, we were spoilt for choice for the starter or porridge or cereal and then a choice from 6 mini menu's. (I would highly recommend the locally caught Kippers).

We were given all the information we needed with regards to getting around, what there was to do for New Year and other must see sights. We were 20 minutes walk away from Arthur's Seat and 2 minutes from the nearest bus stop. To walk into the town took longer than we expected, about 40 minutes, the only minor fault. However this was not a problem during the day, it will just depend on how energetic you are feeling.

All in all we were made to feel very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Edinburgh is a beautiful city and Aonach Mor mimics it's historic theme with beautiful decorations in this old terraced building.

“Can't be faulted”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

From check in to check out this was a remarkable hotel just on the edge of the city which was a short bus ride away. The hosts were hospitable and knowledgable and breakfast was everything that has been said already, excellent. Staying in the Jacobean Room was a great addition to our stay and the shower was amazing - if you can book this room, do it, it is well worth that little extra. A small complaint about room temperature was speedily resolved without any fuss. The only complaint is we didn't stay longer! And although not linked, the Salisbury Arms pub is a short walk away for tea. This was recommended and was excellent. Try it!

Room Tip: Choose the Jacobean Room, if you can!

“Generous breakfasts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

We thought the Guest House we had stayed in at St Andrew's was good until we had our first breakfast here. The St Andrew's place was boutique but a little tight in the breakfast stuff - e.g. if you wanted black pudding and haggis they gave you a half slice. Not so at Aonach Mor, full slices of both, two slices of bacon along with everything else. Kippers were excellent too!

Excellent choices, generous portions - all good.

Amazing shower in the room, jets from every angle!

Lovely couple.

Myself, fiance and 2 yrs old daughter stayed at the Aonach Mor over Hogmanay this year ( 2012 ).

The owners ( Jennifer and Callum ) were amazing!, very friendly and beyond hospitable:)

The breakfasts were lovely and more than substantial:)- great morning music too:))

It's in a great location, very close to the town centre, Arthurs Seat and other famous attractions.

Great value too:)

Would highly recommend to anyone looking for great accommodation in Edinburgh!

Room Tip: All rooms are great!
