“Superb place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012 via mobile

Just back from a night in the glasshouse and it was fantastic!! We had the romance package which included a bottle of champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries, petals on your bed, and breakfast in bed. The room was huge, the bathroom was just as big. The balcony was also huge. Even though it was cold we went onto the rooftop garden it's georgeous. The breakfast was great! Can't wait to go back!!

Spent a week in Edinburgh with my daughter and found the hotel and staff to be so helpful with directions and recommendations. The location was great. Loved to boutique feel! Heated towel racks in the bathroom were especially nice.

Room Tip: Request a room that opens onto the garden terrace-nice view and a little patio, weather permitting.

“Relaxing stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Stayed one night in a deluxe room - remarkably quiet with no traffic noise even though you're right in the centre of Edinburgh. Very comfortable bed, spacious room with all necessary facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very minor drawbacks - tv was small, channel-hopping function on remote didn't work and shower door didn't have a handle on the inside. However room was very comfortable and would recommend especially if you want to be in the middle of it all but also want a quiet, safe haven.

Thank you very much for staying at Glasshouse Hotel. We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your time with us. I’m sorry to hear of your disappointment on your recent stay due to problems with your TV remote control. Our maintenance team conducts a thorough inspection of all our bedrooms daily to ensure appliances are in good working order. Unfortunately on this occasion, it seems that there was an oversight on our part and for this we can only apologies. We hope to welcome you back again soon.

We have previously visited The Glasshouse on each occassion finding it to achieve its 5 star rating. The staff are always very helpful and general standards excellent. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast also receiveds top marks. The location of the hotel is ideal for a nearby car park and easy to travel by foot around all the main attractions.

my husband booked the glass house to celebrate my birthday. We stopped for 2nights between xmas and new year. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and told everything we needed to know about the hotel. We were shown to room 69 which was spacious and had the added benefit of a large roof terrace complete with garden furniture. The bathroom had everything you needed nice toiletries along with lovely deep bath and seperate power shower cubicle. The beds were very comfortable - linen very good quality as were the pillows. The only down side to the room was that the terrace door didn't shut properly and a gale force wind was blowing through at night time, the carpet in the bedroom was stained - surprised as the rest of the hotel was spotless. The honesty bar was a little weird (basically a cupboard on a landing) and i missed the gathering of other guests for a night cap drink. We found a great place to eat breakfast 2 for £10 at the Filling Station Restaurant in cinema complex which served the offer until 12.00 midday

Thank you for your comments about the staff and the comfort. With regards to the carpets we are in the process of deep cleaning or replacing them as necessary, so I am sorry you found yours to be in need of attention. We are happy to read that you otherwise enjoyed your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back again.
