I purchased a groupon for a two course meal for two with drinks. I had cock-a-leekie soup, it was beautiful, really tasty with lots of chicken thru it. My husband had pate & toast, he said it was delicious. He had fish in batter, which was cooked to perfection, the batter was light & crispy with hand made chips, which were to die for. I had slow cooked beef with mash & gravy which was very tasty. The beef just melted in your mouth, you could just touch it with your fork & it fell away. The gravy was very rich, but very tasty. I had a couple of white wines & my husband had lemonade as he was driving. The manager was charming & the barman very attentive, but the chef was the star. Well done to all concerned. Overall a very enjoyable experience. I will definately return for more. Give it a try,you won't be disappointed !!!!

The staff, the food, the rooms where all great:) Have no complaints at all. Will definitely return.

Don't know about you but I am usually hugely disappointed in Christmas meals at hotels and restaurants. When these venues prepare food in bulk the quality is the first thing to suffer. The meal at a hotel party night last week was awful. Hardly ate a thing and it was not cheap. The time delays between courses had us all wondering if the waiters were ever coming back.

Last night 28 collegues and myself went to the Meadow Hotel. With a quite extensive menu we thought there may be a long delays or the food be over/under cooked but it was a super meal with every course gobbled up. I did not hear one word of complaint from any of us.
Even the usual Turkey roast was beautifully cooked and presented.

We booked our Christmas party in October, however due to redundancy at our work, we had less people still going to our Christmas party, the staff were very accommodating under the circumstances. We enjoyed drinks at the bar before going through to the function room. As a small firm it was so nice to be amongst many other small groups and not penned in and rushed through as so many Christmas doo,s can be. The menu which we pre ordered was served promptly and was enjoyed by all, the staff both Stuart and Jack served us and remained available when ever we required more wine and coffee, even the Chef passed through to ensure we were all enjoying his menu. Thanks to all the staff for a great night we do hope to book again next year.
