“Will definitely stay again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012 via mobile

This hotel is situated next to the Royal Mile road, hitch leads all te way to the castle, a 20 minute walk in an ideal location. It was a little hard to find at first as it is hidden down a side road, but once we found it we were blown away.
We stayed in the studio apartment, complete with kitchen facilities, they had everything available for making your own meal, and dishwasher and a washing machine all in the room!
The bathroom and shower facilities were extremely clean, if I had one fault it would be the lack of hot water sometimes, we only seemed to get so much hot water in the bath or shower before it turned cold, but only occasionally!
Other than that it was a great stay, at a great price, the staff at reception were friendly and able to point out places to go in Edinburgh with their own maps, overall it was the best hotel I have ever stayed in!

“Perfect accommodation for a brilliant weekend!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Just booked our second trip to the Holyrood after such a great experience last year. We booked as a group of 6 girls last March and were just amazed by how wonderful our two apartments were for the price we paid. They were immaculate and so spacious with brilliant facilities and had we wanted to increase in numbers we would still have had plenty of room. We were delighted to have TWO amazing shower rooms in each apartment and more than enough space all round for the 6 of us to meet up in one apartment for an evening glass of wine or for our breakfast planning meeting. The breakfast pack was superb and had all we needed and more...some Irn Bru would be good though ;-). It took us no more than 5 minutes to walk to the nearest shops and bars and all of our taxi journeys were reasonably priced. We just had THE best weekend in Edinburgh. Having spoken to Hannah again today I can honestly say that their customer service is also fantastic....she is always so lovely and nothing is ever too much trouble. We are all getting excited for our return trip at the end of March!! Hope nothing ever spoils this fantastic accommodation!!

Great to hear such amazing comments from this guest and I would like to say a big thank you for taking the time to share wonderful feedback. I look forward to welcoming them again in March, and although Irn Bru is not the cornerstone to a traditional healthy breakfast, if they let me know when they are coming I will ensure there is plenty in the apartment for their arrival.

“Great location for everything!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Arrived at this hotel on Thursday, a little bit earlier than expected. The hotel were very good and let me check in to my room early. I was paying 81.00 GBP for Thursday night and 215.00 GBP for Friday and Saturday night. The room I had was a double room and another with 2 single beds. Initially I was put on the 3rd floor, but disappointed with my room, which was very basic. The TV didn't work and there was no table and chairs for dining - only a sofa and 2 lounge chairs with a table in the open plan kitchen/living room. I was having 2 of my friends join me for a relaxing weekend. I complained and was upgraded to the 6th floor which was the executive floor. The room sizes were the same - but there were more soft furnishings and nice finishing touches in my room. There is a DVD player and TV in each room and also a CD player with radio. I used all of these and they worked perfectly. The dishwasher was in immaculate condition as were the rest of the kitchen facilities - including the washing machine, the hob top, the cooker and the fridge.

The manager fo the hotel was great, as were the young male and female on reception - nothing was too much for them - they were polite and provided recommendations, food menus and their attitudes were fantastic.

The beds were very comfy - a great nights sleep! Also there were no rowdy crowds or noisy guests staying here (even with the rugby being on the same weekend). I couldn't hear any other people from my apartment at all. The latest check out I could get was 1.00pm - which they extended from 12pm for me.

The wireless internet is a wee bit of a let down. It does work - but is very slow. The cost is 5.00 GBP for 24 hours.

There is a Tesco Extra about 300 metres so you can stock up on your food and drink - and there is a Pizza Express 100 metres away, which is really clean with great service. Dynamic Earth is a 5 minute walk away as is King Arthurs seat which is a lovely big hill you can walk up. There is an NCP car park within a 5 minute walk of this hotel, the hotel also offers parking at 8.50 GBP per night - it looked secure as it was under the hotel itself.

You can walk to the city centre itself - at a medium pace it would take around 25 minutes to get to Princes Street. It cost under 5.00GBP to get to Princes Street / Waverley station.

There is a nice little cafe about 200 metres from the hotel - it serves croissants, bagels, porrige and cooked breakfasts. Porridge cost 2.50 GBP and Bagel with peanut butter cost 2.75 GBP.
I would recommend this place to anyone to stay in - to me personally it wasn't worth 215 GBP per night at the weekend, but the cost of 81.00 GBP during the week is outstanding value.

“Brilliant!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Fri 27th Jan 2012-29th Jan 2012 I booked this weekend away as a xmas present for me my mum and sister, We ended up in the Holyrood by accident. We were meant to be staying at the Jurys Inn. It was the best mistake we ever made! The Holyrood is perfect the rooms are spacious and very clean, They are warm and cosy with all the facilities you have at home. It is very central and a two min walk to the tesco express were you can buy all your food and drinks. You have all the benifits of a apartment but yet the security of having a 24hr reception desk. We enjoyed our stay so much we are going back to Holyrood in October.
Worth every penny. x

Room Tip: Room 300 is were we were staying it was lovely

“Great spot, honest price, good for families!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

- Just 30 seconds from the Royal Mile
- very polite staff
- it has an escalator
- the apartment is big and well furbished, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room and kitchen!
- it has washing and drying machine
- the neighborhood is pretty damn calm. so your sleep is guaranteed!

In fact, I would be pretty happy if every city in the world had a hotel like this one!!! 2 thumbs up!
