we decided at the last minute to go through to Edinburgh and got a family room at the Northumberland for £83 for 2 nights bed & breakfast (continental) the room was ok but we thought there was going to be a bar and entertainment but the bar was all in darkness on the friday and a function on in the saturday, there was a little bit of noise as the guests left the party but nothing too loud..the noise was worse from 2 females staying in the room next to us as they arrived back to the hotel around 3.30am and chatted as they went along the corridor to their room.breakfast was fine choice of cornflakes, crunchy nut and fruit and fibre, there was also plenty of bread left out for you to make your own toast ,with butter ,jam and marmalade,3 urns with coffee and tea and fruit yoghurts and jugs of orange and apple juice .Staff were very friendly and the facilities were ok for what we paid for.If we got the same deal again and there was entertainment we would probably use the hotel again.
