I stayed for one night in April a couple of years ago and it was really easy to find from the main station (Waverley). It's just at the other end of Prince's street onto the road that is practically straight ahead and is probably one of the better hotels I ever stayed in when coming to Edinburgh around that time. The breakfast the next day I remember was very good, nice food and if you don't know Edinburgh well is an easy place to stay as you have the main street infront of you with all of the bus services about. The hotel itself was very pleasant, there is a really warm and comfortable feel to the lounge where all guests can go to and there is (or at the time, was) sky tv and a bar (i can't remember whether it was pricey but remember enjoying my drink). It isn't a fancy hotel, however if you're coming for a reasonably priced stay for a night or two (we booked last minute and got a cheaper price however, so i'm not sure if it is usually much more than we paid) then it is very pleasant to stay here. Especially convenient if you're travelling by train and plan to walk/use buses.
