“Rugby weekend”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We arrived on the Friday night and was greeted by a very friendly and helpful gentleman. He helped us with directions to somewhere nice to eat and couldn't have been more helpful. Only minimal bedding, as Travelodge seems to like and not enough towels, plus the room was a bit cool, so we just turned the heating up and when got back from eating out, it was ok. The bathroom light was broken, but by then, we were shattered and just slept. Shot out to rugby in the morning and when got back, spoke to a different guy about the bathroom light, got a bit of an abrupt reply, with a comment made about sending someone up to look at it. this did not happen. Bit disappointed at this, as the first guy couldn't have been more helpful and the room was nice and clean otherwise.

Room Tip: We could only get a family room, so it had plenty of room if you are staying for a few days

“Comfy and friendly”

Myself and two others stayed here last June whilst taking part in the Edinburgh Moonwalk and we paid £25 a night for the 3 of us. We had read mixed reviews and decided to go with it as we only needed a place to dump our bags and then sleep for one night. We arrived on a miserable wet day and it wasn't the most attractive looking building but when we got to reception we were greeted like long lost friends.
The room was basic but can't complain for £25, beds were comfy and facilities were fine. We also dined at The Little Chef next door several times and once again were pleasantly surprised at how good it was and how friendly the staff were.
When we arrived back after the Moonwalk for breakfast they gave us a cooked breakfast half price.
If your not wanting the Ritz and want a bed for a night and on a budget, stay here!

Ok for a budget stay somewhere and for the price what do you expect. Clean and comfortable and fine for a few nights stay. Think you need a car if your staying here as i'm not sure how else you'd go about getting to and from it. I'm going back in a few weeks so not bad that i'd choose to avoid it. x

Room Tip: Not really sure about the rooms, ours was on the bottom floor and decent enough, sure they are all t...

“Basic but clean and good value”

We stayed in a family room that was quiet, clean and tidy. The reception staff were very polite and helpful, and there was no problem when we asked for more towels and pillows. There was plenty of free parking, with a petrol station & shop nearby and a Little Chef right next door.
Good dressing table area with mirror for styling hair etc, and there was a full length mirror. Kettle, tea, coffee and decaff coffee available in the room. At £19 a night right before Xmas, can't complain at all.

“OK for one night on a budget”

It's tired and grubby - but not as bad as Kinross Travelodge!
It was cheap, and in an excellent location on the Edinburgh ring road. There's a petrol station in front of the hotel and a Little Chef adjacent.

Room Tip: Ask for one on the back of the hotel, away from the petrol station.
