“Gorgeous Suite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Recently stayed here with my husband. We were given room 30 which has a castle view. Room was lovely, massive bedroom area that you could close the
Curtains so if someone was wanting to sleep & the other person wanted to watch tv the light wouldn't annoy them! Lovely living area with couches & dining area.
Lovely big bathroom with big bath!
Room had nespresso machine, microwave, kettle & a range of glasses- even champagne flutes! We normally always take a bottle of wine when we are staying in a hotel so nice to have the glasses already in the room!
Breakfast was served in our room- you tick your selection from a large list, hand it in to the reception & arrives at your specified time. Nice treat to have breakfast in your room. I often do this whilst travelling with work but you are always charged extra for this- not the case here!!

Overall a lovely stay & we will definitely return!!

Dear SarahandChris,

Many thanks for recommending The Edinburgh Residence to other TripAdvisor members and sharing some photo’s of Suite 30 that you stayed in. As a regular TripAdvisor reviewer, your comments are very much appreciated.

Our spacious suites are all individually designed and therefore each Suite has a different feel to it, though of course all in keeping with an elegant, traditional theme. Next time you stay with us, why not ask for a Suite facing the rear of the property and this time enjoy a view over the Dean Village to the Firth of Forth and beyond. A number of our suites feature a Jacuzzi bath, or a free standing roll top bath – the perfect way to relax after a day of sightseeing; shopping or working! And so as you’re not lonely in the large bathroom – there’s a rubber duck to keep you company.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to The Edinburgh Residence soon.

Warm Regards,

Celia Hague

“My home from home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We just love The Edinburgh Residence and go every year, so of course looking forward very much to our annual stay there again in 2012. The Residence is delightful, in that it is in one of the best locations in Edinburgh, and the ambience, the staff, the facilities, the food and the general running of this place and fantastic rooms makes it a joy to return to each day and of course every year! Edinburgh has lots to offer within easy walking distance. Further afield there are many wonderful locations to visit and then return again to 'your home' for a comfortable sleep. It doesn't get much better than this in life.

Dear Bahar321,

Thank you for recommending The Edinburgh Residence on TripAdvisor. To be described as “faultless” is truly wonderful and it is great that we are achieving our aim of ensuring that all our guests enjoy a memorable stay with us.

Our guests can order some delicious food from our Room Service Menu at any time of the day or night and unlike other hotels, we do not apply any additional tray charges. With all our luxury Suites being larger than your average hotel room there is plenty of space to enjoy your room service meal either at the dining table (we will even set the dining table in your Suite for you should you wish); or on the sofa (maybe whilst watching one of the DVD’s from our DVD library) or on your large and comfortable double bed.

We are delighted to hear you are already becoming a regular guest and hope to be able to welcome you for either business or leisure again soon.

Kind Regards,

Celia Hague

“quiet exquisite residence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We were upgraded to the top suite overlooking the countryside. The men at the front desk were so helpful. This place was great. We were walking distance to the center of the city but out of the hustle bustle of city life. There were very nice restaurants a very short distance away. At the end of a busy touring day it felt like coming home.

Room Tip: If possible upgrade to the top floor. The views are beautiful. It's a very quiet building.

Dear nricks,

It was a pleasure to read your recommendation of The Edinburgh Residence on TripAdvisor and we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us.

As you said in your review, The Edinburgh Residence has the enviable location of being a short walk from the main city centre tourist attractions and restaurants, but yet also in quiet surroundings. And should you encounter a rainy Edinburgh day and not wish to venture out our onsite Number Seven restaurant serves lunch and dinner daily, offering British cuisine with a contemporary twist.

You can enjoy the views over the Dean Village, towards the Firth of Forth and beyond whilst enjoying Afternoon Tea in our Drawing Room, which will shortly be refurbished as part of our continual redecoration programme.

Your comments regarding the friendly service you received from our team will be passed on to them all.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your recommendation on TripAdvisor. We hope to welcome you back soon.

Warm Regards,

Celia Hague

“Fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

We stayed here for our anniversary break and would definitely stay again. From the greeting on arrival, onwards, we received excellent service from all the staff we encountered. The room was fantastic, with great views and comfort, lovely big bathroom and cosy furnishings. We had a fabulous afternoon tea and we enjoyed our evening meal in the cosy wee restaurant.

Room Tip: Afternoon tea is a must - delicious!

Dear theanders,

We are delighted you choose The Edinburgh Residence to celebrate your anniversary and have taken the time to recommend us on TripAdvisor.

Our elegant surroundings are the perfect setting to enjoy your Top Tip for our traditional Afternoon Tea, served daily either in our Drawing Room or in your Suite. A selection of freshly made sandwiches, delicious homemade scones with clotted cream and jam and a tempting selection of cakes and pastries, all served with a fresh pot of tea or coffee of your choice. As an extra treat, we include a glass of sparkling wine with our Afternoon Tea too – a great Top Tip theanders.
