Perfect location across from a park and an easy walk to all of the key sites. The check-in was effortless and we were immediately served with tea and cookies upon arrival which was greatly appreciated after a long day of travel. The breakfasts were the best we had in Scotland. Nici and Robin were perfect hosts, really nice people. Their advice for touring and dinner were right on target. My charger would not work and Robin dug around until he found one that took care of our problem. The room was definitely upscale with very new bathroom fixtures. We have already recommended the Elmview for a friend of ours who is planning a trip for this fall.

We stayed with Robin and Nici last Sept for 3 nights. Everything was perfect: great hosts; breakfast was equivalent to a 5 star restaurant; central location; very quiet; park across the street had a quaint golf course; easy access to public transportation.

I was invited last September to play for an England Croquet team against Scotland in Edinburgh. I chose to stay at Elmview, solely because of its location about 50 yards from The Meadows Croquet Club. Nici and Robin treated me like an international sports star, even though I admitted that I was not in that class. England won the match in some style, and there were celebrations with all the other Elmview guests over breakfast the next morning. And what a breakfast!!!
Our room was spacious and comfortable and so quiet. There are exceptional local resaurants within five minutes walk. The City centre is a comfortable and pleasant 20 minute walk or alternatively frequent buses stop within 200yards.
Last, but not least, there is a FREE golf course opposite the B&B. Robin supplies clubs, balls and tees.
The Scotland/England croquet fixture will be back in England next season, so we will have to think of other reasons to return to Elmview in 2012.

I stayed at Elmview a few years ago with a friend whilst doing the Edingburgh moon walk. I was so impressed with the accomadation and breakfast that I took my husband back in the summer. The accomadation, food and hospitality was as good as I remembered. Nici and Robin remembered me and treated me as a friend. I would highly recomend Elmview to anyone visiting Edinburgh. We will certainly be going back.
