My wife and I stayed for two nights in June 2011 in this Georgian family house which has some interesting history. The hotel is in a quiet situation just off London road near Calton hill and about 10 minutes walk from the city centre.
The staff in this family run hotel were helpful and friendly. We stayed in a spacious en suite double room which also included a single as well as a double bed. The room was very clean and adequately furnished with every facility you would need including easy chairs, digital television, cd/radio player and tea and coffee making facilities. The bed and bedding were excellent and the bathroom which also included an electric shower was again very clean.
We didn't use the bar lounge but it appeared very cosy when we went to pay our bill on departure.
The only slight reservation we would have about this hotel is that the interior is in need of redecoration.

We paid £170:00 for our two nights which included a very large delicious breakfast each morning. Overall this hotel is good value for what we paid and we would go back again.

I made a last minute booking for a short break after other plans fell through. From the initial telephone call to the end of the stay, the service was excellent. A breath of fresh air after the impersonal style of hotel chains. Good value for money, lots of nice little touches and super breakfasts. Good location with an easy walk to the town centre. Plenty of places to eat in the immediate area. I can recommend the Conan Doyle pub.

It was really lovely to stay in the Clan Campbell Hotel. The accomodation was comfortable and the design of the hotel just charming. Size of the room appropriate, lovely facilities. I enjoyed the breakfasts - big and tasty:) and the steam in the bathroom:) John and Ursula are so nice, friendly and helpful, that you really feel the atmosphere of home there. For sure I'll come back to the Clan Campbell Hotel and I can advise you in 100% to stay in that wonderful place! Agnieszka

Big old house with lovely touches. Room was very comfortable and the breakfasts are huge, nothing is too much trouble. The owners and their staff are friendly and well-organised. Definitely worth a visit and not surprised they have lots of repeat business. Thanks for a lovely stay.
