“very good B&B, nice family”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2011

The B&B is really great !!! We had a superb breakfast, everything was clean and well maintained. The location is ok, you have several busstops in the surrounding, the busses arrive every few minutes. The travel time to town is about 10-15 minutes, depending on, where you want to go. So we can recommend this house, we would come again !!!!!

“A warm, clean and welcoming stay..”

We would recommend the barony house for your stay in Edinburgh. We stayed in a first floor double en-suite which had a lovely large window which opened out to the rear of the house overlooking pretty gardens and roof tops. The rooms’ aspect was sunny in the mornings and shady in the evenings. The room itself had all the amenities you would expect and even two hair dryers! Plenty of storage and a couple of full length mirrors to check your shirt was tucked in! The bed was comfortable with plenty of sheets to keep you warm. There is a phone, TV (standard channels) and wi-fi access is available. There is also tea/coffee making facilities with lots of tea bags/coffee and drinking chocolate, not to mention the sherry!
Alcohol was permitted within the rooms for a glass of wine, with wine glasses provided. Hot food is not permitted but there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. We enjoyed a very good meal at “The New Bell”. There was plenty of useful information to read both in the room and at the entrance.
Breakfast was a treat with a hot buffet which was pre-ordered. There was fresh juice, good croissants and cereals and fruit to start and a ‘full Scottish’ to follow if you wished. The coffee was of the good and strong variety which I personally liked.
The B&B was very well placed to get into the centre of Edinburgh, or to the Stadium if you were going to a game at Murrayfield. It takes 10 minutes on the bus to Princes Street. There are plenty of busses available, an adult day ticket for unlimited travel for the day only costs £3 (02-2011) so is very good value, and regular with busses almost every 10 minutes.
We very much enjoyed our stay and would book again, many thanks to Leo and Susie.

“Our first experience in Edinburgh”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2011

Our first experience in Edinburgh has been great also because of the fantastic hospitality of Leo and Susie at the Barony House.
The room was big and the bed huge and comfortable. Very clean and with a beautiful view on the garden. The breakfast tasty, rich and healthy. The location easy to reach and gives you the opportunity for a nice walk.
On our next visit in Edinburgh will go there again for sure.

“absolutely fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2011

We've stayed at Barony House prior to them down-sizeing, we had a fantastic stay the first time and no complaints on the second. They go all out for their guests, and will do anything to ensure you have a fantastic stay. Can't wait to go again. The rooms are lovely, clean and well furnished. The breakfast is excellent. You can't go wrong when it comes to value for money, and the location is approx 10-15min walk to princess street, or if your feeling lazy it's a 2min walk to closes bus stop.
Thanks for another fantastic New Year
