“Short Trip Edinburgh”

When it comes to boutique hotels I believe it's a matter of taste. My Husband and I really enjoyed this one but it's not for everybody. It was in the perfect location for us for our 3 day stay in Edinburgh. It's minutes away from the train station, in the heart of the city, and at the end of the Royal Mile. We went during the freeze and found the hotel and rooms to be very warm and cosy. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. It is located right above the pub so some might be bothered by the late night noises.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to rate The Bank Hotel on Trip adviser, I truly do appreciate the time taken to do this by our guests.

I am delighted to see that you enjoyed your time with us here at the Hotel and that our rooms were able to keep you snug and warm during the cold snap that we had in the City.

I hope we can see you again next time you visit the city.

Best wishes and kind regards

“Return to Banking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

I was a regular visitor to the bank of scotland when my dad was a bank manager there in the 80's. His office is now the reception area for the hotel and has hardly changed. We enjoyed our stay and the David Livingstone room which was small but almost perfectly formed. As this was on the top floor there were lots of stairs so no gym visits were required during our stay. The bar was friendly with a good atmosphere.

We would not hesitate to return here in the future.

Room Tip: Lots of stairs if you stay on top floor, good for burning calories.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to rate The Bank Hotel on Trip adviser, I truly do appreciate the time taken to do this by our guests.

I am over the moon that you have the story and memories of when the Bank Hotel was still in fact a BANK! I would be delighted to hear any more stories that you may have of the building or any pictures that may be in a closet somewhere.... It really is wonderful to think that you have stayed in the Hotel where your father was a bank manager, just great.

I am very happy that you enjoyed your stay and hope that you will visit us again in the near future, as I said, I would be delighted to have a chat with you about your memories.

Best wishes and kind regards

“Good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Didnt stop here but had food here every time we visit Edinburgh. Its above average for pub food and very well priced and the service was brilliant. Well done the 2 young lads behind the bar who served us beer with table service for several pints before we decided to eat. Just a good place to go and have a few beers and chill out and have some good home cooked food.

“My first trip to Edinburgh”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

We found the Bank Hotel by accident when we looked at the current hotels in Edinburgh.

Even when we saw the hotel's exterior facade, we were in love and booked us in for 3 nights.

The fact that the hotel only has 9 rooms, each with its own history was yet another reason why we wanted to visit the Bank Hotel.

It was a lively and friendly atmosphere in the hotel bar, even if they had live music in the evenings it was quiet and peaceful up in our room.

The staff was very service minded and made the stay a pleasant experience.

The room was large and it even had a walk in closet, so there was plenty of room to clear away our things and all the shopping bags we ended up with.

The bathroom was spacious and had a bath with shower.

The old style in the room was nice and provided an relaxing atmosphere.

The location was perfect. It felt like we were living in the heart of the city, it was a big bonus that it was a short distance to many attractions.

The hotel is located right in the Royal Mile, which in itself is a great attraction.

We walked to many places of interest, I can mention Holyroodhouse Palace and Edinburgh Castle.

The hotel is well located, whether you are in Edinburgh for the attractions or shopping, there are many nice shops in the old town, and just a short distance over to the new town.

If I'm going to Edinburgh again, this is were I will stay.
