“Wedding venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2012

From the start of our stay the staff could not have been more helpful. Rooms were excellent, facilities as good as anywhere I have stayed and the service and quality of food very very good. Special mention must be made to the reception staff and the wedding planner, first class service we will definitely use this Hotel again.

“Beautiful hotel!!”

This is the first time I have stayed at the Norton House although I have had dinner about 5 times here. Check-in was very quick even though there was a large gorup checking in, Dinner as usual was superb, staff were always helpful. The executive room was huge! Plenty of light coming in from the balcony. Ordered breakfast to the room in the morning which was delicious! Basically there is nothing I can fault, will definatley be staying here again.

I didnt use the spa this time but I have used it before and it is lovely and peaceful =)

Thank you so much for posting such a lovely review of Norton House Hotel and Spa on Tripadvisor following your visit to the hotel in February. I was very happy to read that after a few visits for dinner, you decided to enjoy an overnight stay with us. Its a shame that you did not get a chance to use the Spa on this visit but, having used it before, you know what a treat it is! Hopefully you can enjoy it on your next break with us.

We look forward to seeing you back at Norton House soon.

Kind regards

“A nice overnight stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

You receive a nice warm welcome on arrival in the old building. Beautiful features and staircase. Unfortunately we were staying in the 'new wing'. Rooms were clean but underwhelming. Took a trip to the leisure facilities. There had been a power cut the day before resulting in an extremely cold pool which was a shame. Nice jacuzzi area. Facilities were again underwhelming. The spa however is a bit better. Treatments are a bit pricey though. We did not eat dinner at the hotel, however did have breakfast. We were seated immediately which we were not expecting as we had a letter from the management delivered the previous night explaining that the hotel was experiencing high volumes of guests for breakfast between 9am-10.30am and advising us to come pre 8am! We arrived at 9.15am with no problem. Breakfast was nice but there wasn't much of a choice. Some bad PR there for no reason. For the price we wouldnt be rushing back but perfectly okay for an overnight stay.

“Lovely Mother Daughter Day at the Spa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I have just had a lovely day at the Spa with my daughter. She was gifted a Spa day for 2 with full massage and mini facialeach and she invited me to join her.

Beautiful grounds leading to the Spa building. Lovely welcome, attentive and professional staff who work constantly to keep everthing moving and topped up. Facilities were spotless. There is a 15m pool with steam room and sauna and experience shower in the same area. Also a smaller, separate hydrotherapy pool. Lockers had monogrammed dressing gown, towel and slippers (sizes vary from locker to locker and they are not really fluffy but they serve the purpose).

We were welcomed by a host and pre-prepared pack reminding us of our treatment times. After completing the health questionnaire we were shown around - with welcoming smiles by all staff we passed. We were handed over professionally from one member of staff to the other.

There is a pleasant bar and cafe/brasserie only for Spa users so we all felt comfortable there in our dressing gowns. We had a main course which was plentiful prior to a treatment and a lovely glass of champagne. The food was delicious and the waitress (sorry do not remember her name) was attentive and helpful. During your visit, there are fruit teas and diluting cordials available at all times in the lounge and relaxation areas.

There are numerous treatment rooms and a nail bar and foot chair area.

I have to commend Rose for her excellent massage and facial - she was very skilled. Thanks you. The relaxation room afterwards is very comfortable with beds separated neatly by bamboo screens. We actually fell asleep for a short time.

It is a relaxing, friendly and welcoming spa with very professional staff, and we would return again. With additional facilities such as different steam/sauna rooms, and a less basic pool area, the score would have been higher, however, the overall experience was lovely.

PS: Remember to check if dressing gowns, towels and slippers are included in your package before you go (our were but I believe they are not always included).

“A Brilliant day at the Spa!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012 via mobile

Just visited the Norton House with my wife for a spa day which was fantastic!
The staff were all very friendly and attentive.
We had an hour in the gym and then spent the rest of the morning in the pool, sauna, steam room and spa area. After lunch, and a nice wee glass of bubbly, we both had a massage followed by the Rasul mud treatment. Thereafter a nice wee half hour in the relaxation room.
All in all, a great day and very much value for money.
Well done and thank you to all at the Spa!
