A group of friends and I recently headed to Edinburgh for Hogmanay and when some of our accommodation fell through at other hotels the sherwood guest house were more than accommodating when we asked if we could have a few extra people in the room!

Initially we thought the room was going to be quite small but were pleasantly surprised when we discovered how big it actually was we were all very comfortable. The lovely couple who run the guest house even supplied us with extra bedding at a minimal charge which we were very grateful for!

The location is great not to far from the royal mile in a cheap cab ride. When we required a cab one was always called for us and arrived promptly.

The sherwood has a great vibe to it and I would recommend it to any one and can't wait to visit again soon!

David and Susan were friendly and very accommodating right from the minute we walked in with an extra person right up until they made us a late breakfast and called a cab to take us to the bus station. I would recommend Sherwood Guest House to anybody.

Thank you both for making our stay in Edinburgh for Hogmanay this year so much easier and enjoyable than it could have been had we come across less understanding and accommodating hosts!

We stayed at the Sherwood for 2 nights. Our room was next to the kitchen but at no time were we disturbed by any sounds or smells emanating from the kitchen, The room was spotlessly clean and very well equipped .The ensuite bathroom was more than adequate and well stocked with good quality essentials.The breakfast is superb with a great choice of bread, meat, cheeses, fruit, cereal & yoghurt.David & Susan are excellent hosts & are very helpful and generous.They had a sumptous packed breakfast ready for us when we informed them that our Highlands Tour was leaving way before the scheduled breakfast time. They are very knowledgable about the area, bus routes etc. & were always available to answer questions & give directions. We saw some excellent places like""The Real Mary King's Close" thanks to their suggestions.
we really felt welcome and cared for. We will most definitely stay at Sherwood Guest House again and will recommend that all who visit Edinburgh do the same !!

room small but very cozy and clean. only a few minutes ride by bus to the city center. The lady that host us was very friendly and nice, she made us feel like at home! will definetly go back. good price. we did not have time to try the breakfast but looked good, since we had to got up very early the lady made us some box breakfast.
