“Great little hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Stayed here for the Calcutta Cup weekend, due to that, a little pricey, but a great location. The staff were extremely friendly and we thought the service was really personal. Asked if we would like drinks from the bar whilst seated in the lovely lounge, and the staff in the bistro were extremely friendly and helpful.
Great room, clean and quite large.
Would definately stay here again and recommend for a stay in Edinburgh

Room Tip: Quiet location, so problem with room noise

“The best hotel in Edinburgh!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We stayed here for 2 nights in early February for a family re-union. I booked online for a twin room (room only basis) & got a very reasonable rate, considering one of the nights was a Friday and had been quoted exorbitant rates elsewhere. It is a 5 minute walk from Waverley station in a lovely cobbled lane under Calton Hill. The first thing that greets you is a roaring coal fire in the reception lounge! Our room on the top floor was really warm and comfortable, bath + shower, flat screen tv etc. But the best feature of all - peace and quiet! The best 2 nights sleep in a hotel I've had for a long time. No traffic noise, no noisy guests, nothing! And to top it all, we left a much-loved soft toy by mistake and the hotel sent it back without delay. I stay in hotels every couple of months or so & can honestly say this hotel will take some beating. Thank you all.

Room Tip: Book online for the internet rate.

“Snug and central”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Got a great deal at this hotel for a friend and self. Great central location seriously good. Cosy clean wonderfully comfy beds. Sumptuous but homely lounge. Didnt eat here as were craving a curry! If you don't fancy a hotel breakfast there's a Starbucks one minute down the hill. For the price beats a travelogue or premier inn hands down! Def be back and will recommend!

“Great Value Centrally Located Edinburgh Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Was a little uncertain about my booking at the Parliament House having read some of the reviews but thought this was great value for a hotel located in the centre of Edinburgh and I think people need to stop expecting 5 star hotels at 3 star prices. Room was reasonably sized and though bathroom was quite small it was perfectly adequate. Despite being 2 or 3 minutes walk from Princes Street location is really quiet and brilliant positioned for visiting anywhere in the city centre. Breakfast is excellent but make sure you book this as part of your room price as it's expensive if you pay for it each day. Staff very friendly and polite and service at breakfast also excellent. Would not hesitate to book this hotel next time we go to Edinburgh.

“Change a couple of things and this could be a 4*”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Just came back yesterday from two nights at the hotel. Loved it! We got a great deal (so perhaps it was a better room) and would stay again. Absolutely superb location to explore the city on foot!

The rooms were a good size, bathroom was nice and there is a nice reception bit at the front with armchairs to sit in by a fire. As far as the room goes, if they improved the tea/coffee making facilities and the tv signal then it just might push the place up a bit on the ratings.

HOWEVER! Do NOT eat at the bistro downstairs. We had the pre theatre deal of three courses for £17 and still felt ripped off! Service was good but it was horrible horrible food! And £9.50 is not a 'deal' for breakfast! There a million places better to eat!!

But as far as the hotel goes...big thumbs up!!
