My first visit to Scotland and after two days in Glasgow stayed here for 4 nights over Christmas. Good choice. Right in the middle of the town, all the shops (literally) on your doorstep. Sainsury's on the corner, McDonalds 2 minutes away for breakfast (or the excellent Filling Station opposite the hotel). Desk staff couldn't have been more attentive or helpful - thanks to the two guys/lady concerned. Room (206) was enormous; big enough to hold a U2 concert in. Only downside is it being above the fish restaurant and the smell permeats throughout the place, but what the heck. The price is right, the rooms are great (tea & coffee making facilities was a nice touch) and the location just couldn't be beaten. Hey, unless you're one of the picky types who frequent these review sites looking for 5 star perfection in a budget hotel, what's not to like? I'm certainly coming back in the New Year to see more of the place and no prizes for guessing where my base will be...
