Booked two of the properties for our sons wedding. Booked directly, and by phone, good check in process with the "house keeper" who ensured everything was in working order and to our satisfaction.
It was an ideal arrangement for the family to relax together, and because of the high standard of the property, and the extensive inventory, we had an enjoyable weekend.
Previous reviews have reported these properties to be poorly maintained, we didnt go looking for problems and certainly didnt find any.
We have rented many properties both in the UK and europe over the past few years, and this was by far the best we have stayed in

We tried to book the coach house for 2 nights but it was fully booked but was offered one of the 3 bedroom apartments instead at a heavily discounted rate. First impressions were good with the size and grandeur of the place and the nice decor and a complimentary bottle of wine bread and milk in the fridge. Once you get over the wow factor and scratch beneath the surface you will find that the furniture fixtures and fittings are all past their sell by date and are showing the signs of wear and tear. The coffee machine in the kitchen was broken, all the furniture is quite shabby and tatty the living room sofas are dirty ans stained the table in the living room was an accident waiting to happen with the legs on one end being broken and just balanced underneath the table top. The shower in the bathroom didn't drain properly and after a minute or so you were in danger of flooding the floor due to it overflowing. The handles on the taps were slack and came off in your hand.

I feel guilty complaining given how little we paid for the apartment but I thought it worth mentioning these facts as many people will be paying top dollar for their stay there and they will deserve better.

With a little bit of TLC and some new furniture these apartments would be worthy of 5 out of 5 but in their current condition I would only rate them 3 out of 5

Just back from a weekend in Edinburgh staying at Alba Apartments. We had a lovely weekend with great weather, but the apartments were really special. We arrived late on Friday evening and had to get the keys from the key safe in the wall... No problem however, with really easy instructions to follow.

We then made our way to the apartment and were left gobsmacked when we opened the door to find this HUGE victorian apartment for us. The rooms were really spacious which our 10 month old daughter loved crawling through. Every room was beautifully appointed with very classy furniture. We couldn't have asked for better.

This was one of our first trips away with our daughter and we wanted plenty of space for us all to enjoy the weekend... We had plenty.

Alba Apartments had left us bread, milk, tea, cerials and coffee to get us started however we ate out alot but breakfast was made wasy with the provisions we had been left.

There was off street parking for the car and the walk into the centre of town takes about 20 minutes. Just perfect for an early morning stroll. Its in a nice quiet residential area, so night-times were wonderfully quiet.

These apartments are exceptional. I can't recommend them enough.

A great internet find, very high standard which loads of space and lots of lovely touches, so m uch better than been in a hotel room, near enough to be able to walk to town. We loved it.
