Cheap (Gvfm?) at off-season rates, but could do better.

Mayville offers cheap (at off-season rates) accommodation with adequate breakfast. Room was clean but let down by poor maintenance (black mould in shower, leaking sink plug, both rads needed bleeding, missing loo seat cover [mentioned in much earlier reviews], TV(analogue+stb) needed scart+aerial connections sorting before it would work.).

Big room, very good breakfast, only a 15 minutes walk to center. A lot of cheap restaurants close to the geuesthouse. We had a room at the road site, but the noise of the traffic was not too bad. Clean bathroom and good shower. Warm and friendly owners.

Cheap accomodation, ideal location for a family on a budget. Huge room, let down by too much furniture, poor quality double bed, curtains coming off the rails, also no toilet lid and a broken shower so u had to hose yourself down. Such a pity, with a little bit of work it would be a very good B&B! Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Just a15 minute walk into Edinburgh.

Our room was in a terrible condition, no toilet seat, TV broken, wallpaper peeling off the walls, quilt and pillows very old and thin with bedding that hadn't been changed. Curtains and blinds falling off rails and NO FIRE ESCAPE as window did not open. No one to greet us, we were told to go round the back to let ourselves in with key left in bedroom door. Cannot believe we were charged £60 for the night.
