Abbotsford is a truly lovely building.....apart from that it's a basic, and very expensive, B&B in a fairly run-down part of the City ( walking into town really doesn't feel too safe )
Room was very small, bathroom very cramped and room was boiling hot even when the radiator was switched off by us as the radiator stayed on until the whole house went off ( No, I don't get that either )
Room exceptionally clean and well-stocked with tea, coffee etc. The much-praised Paola was pleasant but, for someone apparently born and bred in Edinburgh, knew very little about it and advice on how to get to places was dodgy to say the least ( and patently inaccurate in one case )
Breakfast was perfectly OK if nothing special. Overall, a very expensive B&B for what you get and where it is
