We only stayed for one night, travelling back home, needing a place to sleep. We had to leave early for the airport. Nevertheless a warm welcome was ours by Ken, who immediatly proved that his aim is reaching utmost customer satisfaction. An Edinburgh leaflet was at hand and Ken included all necessary details for us, tourists, to be safely on our way! The room met the highest standards, every details had been thought of. Because we had to leave before breakfast, Ken offered us a take-away breakfast. At 5 a.m. in the morning the promised breakfast was there, right outside our door. So we didn't have to leave on an empty stomach!. We spend too little time to rate this place excellent, but I don't blame other reviewers for doing so. In fact, when breakfast is what my fellow reviewers say it is, this place certainly deserve the 'excellent' rating! This place in Edi is marked for another visit!

My husband I stayed in here in September 2008 when on our honeymoon, and we returned last week to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. I wouldn't say we only went back to the Bield B&B because of the wonderful memories of the cooked breakfasts ... but, yes, I admit that was part of it!

We love everything about this B&B - the cleaniness of the rooms, the welcome and friendliness of Ken and Linda, the location, and the price. It met all our needs and if in another 3 years time we decide to go back to Edinburgh, I am sure this where we will be staying!

The buses into town go from right outside the B&B (19, 37 and 47), and are very frequent - we found this a really handy service. It's about a 15-20 minute walk into the town centre from the B&B, so ideal for those evenings when perhaps you've had just a tad too much to eat and need to walk it off!

I really reccommend this B&B if you are staying in Edinburgh, I guarantee you won't be disappointed (no pressure then Ken and Linda!)!

We stayed only one night at the Bield b&b (because it was fully booked during the other nights we needed a room for) and liked it very much. We’ll definitely recommend it. Already the booking via email was very smooth and carefree and we appreciated that no deposit of any kind was requested and even the cancellation policy was extremely flexible.
Good location, fairly closed to the centre (we got there on foot from Waverly station and took us about 20min) with a bus stop just opposite the b&b that takes right in the heart of Edinburgh in few minutes.
The room we had was newly refurbished, very clean and comfortable. Excellent shower.
Ken and Linda’s welcome was warm and friendly. Linda spent quite some time explaining to us all the whereabouts, tips on what to visit (apart from the festival that was on) and on where to eat and, since we were off to a tour of the Highlands the next morning leaving too early to have breakfast, she offered to prepare some packed lunches for us that she left outside our room. Very sweet touch.
It basically ticks all the boxes!

I stayed at the B & B with my mum when we travelled to Edinburgh to see the tattoo. Ken and Linda are a really lovely couple and their home is lovely. When we arrived Linda was ready with a map for us and info on bus times, fares etc. (there is a bus stop right outside the B&B, although it is not too far from the city centre) and she was very helpful, answering any questions we had. Our twin room was lovely (very clean, lovely view of garden, big TV and great bathroom with a big shower) and we had our own entrance and a key to come and go as we liked. We were out very late but were able to get a night bus back from the city centre (it was very busy due to the tattoo, so we didn't want to wait for a taxi). The breakfast was fit for a king and Linda was very attentive and keen to ensure we had everything we wanted. We had a lovely chat with another couple eating at the same time. We had chosen the continental from the breakfast options and it was amazing (selection of cheeses, croissants, cereal, toast, tons of fresh fruit etc.). The best part of the visit (although the breakfast itself was a highlight) was meeting Ken and Linda who are so welcoming, helpful and friendly and lovely to chat to. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Bield again.
