Despite having booked this hotel on Booking.com four months earlier the hotel contrived to lose our booking and were extremely rude and unhelpful in attempting to sort things out.
It was only when I personally got Booking.com involved on the phone at my expense did they show any interest when suddenly by chance a perfectly good room became " free" in their " fully booked" breeze block palace.
There are some good things about the Park Hotel - the rooms are great and the bar is good fun. But the service both on arrival and at breakfast was despicable. If there was anywhere else in the area then I'd certainly rather give them a go next time I'm through.
There is simply no excuse for bad customer care and the so -called deputy duty manager on the afternoon of Saturday 11th Feb was like a Peter Kay character parachuted into an episode of Fawlty Towers.
