we stayed at this b&b for 1 night, and it was just awful. Two single beds and a double in a row. the singles had boards under the thinnist matress i have ever seen, needless to say none of us had hardly any sleep. the duvet cover was paper thin, the bathroom door did not have a lock on it, the tv was very old and parctialy manual. the extras are a very basic hairdryer and a pound shop alarm clock. breakfast is from 8til 9 on sunday, and at 9 on the dot the owner comes to clear your table, even if you haven't finished eating (it happened to me) very bad manners. The perth road area of dundee is very nice and the views from the room are of the tay rail bridge, but do not stay in this b&b, there are plenty others and probably good ones. we were very unfortunate in choosing this one, but it was cold and raining and we needed a place to stay, as we could not get the holiday inn until the following day. we wish we had not chosen this terrible place, but hope this review will help other people in the future to give this place a wide berth.

I have recently been made aware of this posting and as we are very serious about our business we feel that a response is required.
1.The board under the mattress was an integral part of the bedstead when we bought the business. Many mattresses have boards under such as slats or a divan base.
2.Mattresses are not thin which is clearly shown in the photo posted by the complainant.Depth 18cm.
3.Most people know that the thickness of a duvet is not an indication of it's thermal effiency. This is done by a TOG rating.Ours are 10.5. Blankets are also provided and the CH is on 24/7.
4.TVs are CRT type but are fitted with Freeview digital receivers to provide 80+ tv/radio stations operated by a simple remote.
5.Alarm clocks & hair dryers are inexpensive for obvious reasons.
6.En-suite facilities do not require a lock on the door.
7.Procedure at breakfast is to remove cereal bowls & main plates when finished with.Side plates, cups, saucers and juice glasses are cleared after the table has been vacated.
At NO time would a plate be removed while someone was still eating from it.Who would let that happen anyway?
Finally we have just had our annual Tourist board inspection[Jan 2010] and we meet their criteria for a 3 star grade.A copy of this report I will be pleased to e.mail to anyone on request.
