Just returned from a night's stay in what was meant to be the Invermark Hotel, Broughty Ferry. Hotel was booked the day before and I'd been given the last single room, so felt lucky as the pictures of the hotel looked lovely on the net and it was very reasonably priced. At the time of my arrival (which had been communicated to the lady at the time of the booking), I found that the main door was locked, the door bell was rung several times with no answer and the telephone was ringing out, going onto voicemail. Wasn't an ideal welcome having spent 2 hours travelling! After a while, the lady came to the door and told me that there had been a mistake, there was no room for me and that there was a wedding reception party which had taken up the rooms!! The customer service was obismal....not the ideal way to greet guests! Thankfully I managed to get booked in elsewhere. The owner of the B&B I got booked into knew that the Invermark has a reputation for overbooking......beware!
