“Stay somewhere else”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

This is a very tired travelodge now. Its next to the main road which most are but the noise insulation is terrible. We asked to move to the back of the hotel which was a bit better. The room was clean though the mattress was a bit lumpy as were the very thin pillows. Youcan get breakfast at some travelodges now but not this one - but maybe thats a blessing. However the staff were polite & helpful so novriticism there. We only paid £15 for the room - any more & we would have felt ripped off !!

“Travelodge Kingsway Dundee”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

My partner & I stayed here for 1 night in December 2011 in a family room No.3, for £12. We hadn't had the chance to read any reviews about the place, but now I have, I'm surprised by the bad reviews. Either we were lucky to get a good room or maybe they've revamped the place since the other people stayed. We've stayed in a few travelodges usually with the kids & I have to say this one was one of the better ones! It was clean & smelt fresh & in the short time we spent in the room we had no complaints. General complaint to all travelodges though- not enough pillows! The pillows are too thin so you really need 2 each, but thats no big deal. All in all excellent value for money at £12 for the room & we would stay here again if the price was right.

“Dundee central Travelodge”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

We stayed in October 2011 for a very special occassion. I wrote a review on Trip advisor and they didn't even print it :-@. What's the point of Trip advisor then :-(. I received the e-mail from Trip advisor stating sorry your had a bad time, however my review was not even published!!!
Let's see if they publish this.
This Travelodge is completely disgraceful. I have never stayed anywhere where the hygiene is in the gutter like it was here.
It needs completely revamped and good staff training.
I wouldn't even recommend this to my worst enemy.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel.

“Never again!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011 via mobile

We've stayed in Travelodge's up and down Britain and this one let's the side down severely! We arrived with our active 1 year old to a damp smelling cramped family room. I put my daughter down to crawl and she made her way to the big mirror which had a huge sharp crack in it just at her hand height, I picked her up and went to put her in the travel cot out of harms way and it collapsed when I touched it. Reception gave us such a vague look and eventually said she'd ask other hotels if they had any. A few hours later a cot so damaged it wouldn't even stay up was delivered. So here we were with no cot, a sellotaped mirror (yes tape!) And 4 spare duvets to attempt to make her a place to sleep. After convincing her to finally fall asleep and not crawl everywhere I went for a shower.... Yuck is all I can say, mould everywhere, a bubbled floor and no grips in the bath made it quite an experience. A rubbish sleep was had by all between the higher at the feet end double bed, the single sofa "bed" made for lanky teenagers (which I am far from!) And the constant hum and clunking of the traffic. The corridors and doorways of the building are very tired and in need of replacing to say the least. As the title says NEVER AGAIN!

“The dirtiest hotel I have ever seen”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

I checked into this travelodge, only to check straight back out again.
Arrived to a smelly damp room, which I might have been able to put up with for one night. Then when pulling out the under couch bed to check for my son, Me and my husband were digusted to notice that there was dried (what looked like) vomit and toenail clippings.
When I went to reception to ask if they had another room, I was told they did, but I would have to move my bedding to the new room. I decided not to stay and asked for a refund, Which I am still waiting for!!!!
