The buildings in which this hostel is located have been painstakingly restored resulting in modern facilities but retaining all of the character of the original buildings. Dotted around the interior are information boards telling the story of the building's past and its restoration which add to the charm of the place. You could spend hours just exploring this place.

Communal facilities are well kept with a TV room, games room, clean kitchen and cosy reading room. The internet is available on a couple of computers although you have to pay for this, otherwise the wi-fi is free.

We stayed in a double with en suite. Quite basic but this is a hostel after all. My gripes were size of the bed (on the small size) and the lack of anywhere (even shelves) to store toiletries in the bathroom. Little things which wouldn't cost them too much to fix but be a big improvement.

The location is excellent, right in the city centre and an easy walk from the railway station. Most of Dundee's attractions as well as the pubs, restaurants, shops and restaurant are also within easy walking distance. This does have one draw back in that it can be noisey at times through the noise from deliveries or late night revellers.

All in all a very good hostel, well worth staying in.

My Husband, Daughter, and I stayed at Dundee Hostel in July, our room the McCloud suite was lovely and it was a very old an interesting building ,very clean and comfortable. The Lady at reception was very helpful and gave us lots of ideas of what to see while in Dundee,
well worth a visit,

The hostel was very clean and the facilities were very good.
There was a ktchen, bar, Table Tennis, TV, Library etc.
We enjoyed our stay and would use it again if we were to go to Dundee.

The hostel is excellent located, very close to all places of interests, cafés, pubs and shops. This building is really exceptional with its long history - there are very impressive photos from before renovation. The staff was friendly and the fully equipped kitchen was very useful. Haven't used internet or TV but was available.
We had the double room ensuite and were happy with our stay. Very good value for reasonable price.
