I have had the pleasure of staying at Moffat House on a few occasions and can only say it is a real pleasure. The staff are extremely friendly and cannot do enough for you. I have dined there too and I have to say the food is award winning in presentation and taste. I usually stay in the single room which is ideal for the business person travelling, TV WiFi good breakfast what more do you want in an idilic location, beautiful building and town.
A real Gem in the heart of Scotland.

This was our first time staying at Moffat House Hotel but the event was a very important one - our wedding reception. Even though we were a small party of 14 the care and attention given to us before and during the event was exceptional. |All the rooms were very comfortable and warm even though it was November. The food was first class and the staff were kind, patient and calm.
We would definitely stay here again and would strongly recommend the hotel for any event.

This is my second stay at the Moffat House and I will be staying again. I find it convenient for business trips to Glasgow or Edinburgh, being nicer, quieter and lower cost than most 'budget' accomodation I have found in the cities and only an hour or so from either.
I arrived late to a friendly greeting from a smartly-presented receptionist. My room was clean, small but comfortable, too warm to my taste but I could adjust the heat easily for my comfort. The bathroom was clean and presentable with a good-size bath. In the morning the hot water was plenty hot enough for a comfortable bath, the full Scottish breakfast very good with excellent local bacon and sausage, served with good coffee and plenty of toast.
They would have got full marks but for the fire door just outside my room (room 9). It would benefit from a softer automatic closer as every time it banged shut (just adjacent to my head when in bed) it nearly blew me out of bed! Unfortunately my neighbour was coming and going through it until midnight so the noise got a bit tedious. On check-out the receptionist asked for feedback and was genuinely interested in my comments, so I feel it will be investigated.
Overall I am a satisfied customer and will use them again on my next trip.

This was our 4th year at this hotel for our new years celebrations, and can honestly say they have simply got better and better, from check in to check out we were made to feel special by the owners (the Lawson family) and their dedicated staff,
Auld Years night kicks off at seven with ample champagne, a piper lead us to an excellent 8 course banquet, and entertainment, Midnight comes in with a bang, with an impressive firework display over the hotel as a lone piper plays , entertainment then continues to the wee hours , a late breakfast was arranged for the next morning, the evening of the new is year is celebrated with scottish music, dancing and singing
