“LINTHORPE B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

What a refreshing change to have stayed at cracking little B&B. So much attention to detail, large clean room with great en-suite bathroom. Very comfy bed. There is a massive guest lounge with TV and wood burning stove.

The food is excellent with meats aquired locally and served with home grown vegatables. The breakfast was epic and cooked freshly daily. Simon produces home made bread and this was a great change to what most people would be used to.

As well as a great cook, Sue spins wool to world class standards and as a Fly Fishing Instructor has reached the top of the game. I learnt so much more about casting and am now confident to go out and use my new found techniques for both Salmon & Trout Fishing. My 4 night stay will be well remembered and I shall return again on a fishing trip without doubt. - Thanks again for a great stay.

We can recommend this B&B to anybody who is looking for good food, beautiful area, the warm and friendly welcome by Sue and Simon. This was the closure of a very nice holiday in Scotland. We are definetely coming back soon and then we plan to stay longer.

“Nine out of ten cat owners would like it”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

Twynholm is a rustic village, so don't be put off by the approach along Arden road. It's a mess on first sight, but that's not a reflection of the B&B. Service was good and room was comfortable and spacious, but if you don't like cats this isn't for you. The cats roam around the 'guest' lounge and under the table at meal times. For those of us without cats it's a bit concerning. It’s also an issue if you are allergic and unaware of them before you book - like we were. Overall it's a good base from which to explore Kirkudbright and surrounding area.

We have taken your comments on board, and our web site displays prominently that we have cats, we have always made it clear on our website that we have cats but unfortunately when it was re-vamped in the spring the information was left out. It is now back there centre stage.

However we would like to point out that none of our 3 cats have ever been allowed in the guest bedrooms so allergy sufferers need have no worries there, as soon as we are told of cat allergies we keep our cats away from guests and the guest lounge, they are not even let into the main house until after breakfast anyway. We are sorry this marred your stay.

“We Loved It!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2011

The food, the Fly casting instruction, and the accomodations were all excellent. Sue was very impressive with her many gifts and knowledge of cooking, spinning, fly casting. Simon'sl bread was awesome!
We would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a quiet get away and comfortable surroundings.

There is no internet service available at the B&B, but hey, isnt that part of the "get away?"

“I'll definitely be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2011

All the rooms were lovely and spacious, beautifully decorated, and there was a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere throughout my whole stay.

Bed very comfortable and I slept well (not always the case for me when away from home!).

Lovely views from the lounge windows and we were free to wander round the attractive and productive garden which provided some of the ingredients for the meals. I very much liked the option of being able to have an evening meal. The food was totally superb with the original and very delicious option of home smoked, locally caught trout for breakfast.

I was there for a 2 day spinning workshop and was delighted with the standard of teaching and the personal and flexible nature of it. My spinning greatly improved just during those 2 days and I also gained a significantly greater understanding of some of the essential theory. Most importantly it was also great fun.
