“Lovely B&B with very friendly owners”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2010

We had a lovely stay at the Rhone Villa.

The owners were extremely friendly and have an excellent sense of humour - breakfast time was a very sociable affair. The breakfast was very good too - a wide selection of food and well catered for vegetarians too.

There is adequate parking at the back (off the street) and the B&B is only a short walk into Gretna Green and the Blacksmiths (Let's be honest, Gretna's a very small place!). We were also given some excellent recommendations on places to eat.

We found the room to be a good size, clean and comfortable enough although the mattress was very soft and we didn't have the best night's sleep in it.

Nevertheless, on the whole we found Rhone Villa to be a pleasant place to stay and would certainly recommend it to others.

“Very friendly B+B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2010

I stayed here for several weeks as part of my course was based nearby. Alison and Ian went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable and I would recommend this place to anyone. The food was good, the room very pleasant but it was the friendliness that made it excellent.

“A clean room with a great breakfast and knowledgeable owners”

I got to sleep in the room i was born in almost 70 years ago..very surreal. I filled the Manager in on the history as I knew it and corrected some of the web story.

The house is a small three bedroom where the roooms all have en suite facilities. We found the rooms very clean and comfortable for our one night stay and the price was great. The television was small but then it was only one night there were tea making products in the room .

The managers were very pleasant, they cooked a great breakfast and filled us in on what was happening in town and round about.

Stopped by Gretna Hall which looked very run down and smelled of old cabbage.

“Superb B&B and Hospitality”

We stayed at the Rhone Villa for one night to break up the journey to the Highlands and right from the start (communication via email) the service was fabulous. Alison is a perfect hostess.

We had a lovely double room overlooking the street and nearby fields with a small bathroom - perfect for an overnight stay. The location is good - very easy to find off of the motorway and just down the road from the action of the main hub of the town. The b&b is located very close to the motorway and we did hear an odd rumble, but nothing significant and don't let this put you off what is otherwise a very comfortable nights sleep. Alison gave us a recommendation for a local pub and we merrily spent the night drinking with the locals and grabbed a pizza on the way home (arrived too late to enjoy any pub grub!).

One final note about breakfast - my boyfriend said that it's one of the best breakfasts he's ever had, and if he's happy then that's enough said for me!!

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 March 2009

Stayed in October 2008 - it was a really lovely place, in fact we enjoyed it so much myself and fiance have booked a couple of room to stay here again in april 2009 the night before our wedding. the wedding itself is across the road at the blacksmiths workshop so couldn't be any more convenient for ourselves. Ian and Alison have been nothing short of fantastic in helping us find places we need for the day, hairdressers, reception etc and anything else they could accomodate us with. The rooms are spotless, the bathrooms lovely and the breakfast is just undescribable - simply magnificent. Would have no hesitation in recommending the rhone villa. I look forward to going back.
