We visited this hotel in early January as a Christmas treat to each other and we had a great weekend. We found the staff all polilte and helpful in the hotel and restaurant. We found our room clean and tidy as well as we use the facilities which were also clean and tidy. We did not attend the entertainment on the Saturday night but did get review that it was a great night. We will return again to the hotel for an entertainment weekend and will be recommending to all family and friends.

We decided to book this hotel for New Years Eve. 2 adults and 2 children age 10. After we'd been in our room about 5 minutes we received a phone call to check that we were happy with the room and if we has aged to find everything (one of the childrens beds was a soda bed and we had been wondering where the bedding was so this was very helpful). We had booked in for the function on the evening which was fantastic - the food was fabulous and the entertainment was really good - also the drinks were reasonably priced which was a pleasant surprise as you tend to find you get charged excessively in places like this! The beds were really comfortable and there was plenty of choice for breakfast. We made use of the leisure facilities before we left - gym,pool,sauna,steam room and jacuzzi. Couldn't fault this hotel. Would recommend it and will stay again

had a 5 day xmas break at the cairndale hotel in dumfries the food was excellent and plenty of it, the room was comfortable we stayed in room 10 on the 1st floor

We spent 4 nights here over Christmas and had a great time.The place is a little old fashioned but very clean and well run.The food from breakfast to dinner was very good with plenty of choice and very well presented.The management are very professional and run things very well.Our room (6)was spacious and warm and the bathroom well equipped with a very big bath.The entertainment put on at night was very good and on our final night there was an Abba tribute band on which was very good.We have just one very small complaint that there is no clock in the bedroom which is fine for us but our elderly mother-in-law found it difficult.
