We booked this knowing very little about the hotel (except previous reviews). We have stayed in some run-down hotels in Scotland .... but this certainly was not! We found our room comfortable, the staff extremely friendly and the food (breakfast and dinner) good.

We stayed one night in this hotel, we were given the last room that was available - the staff were very friendly & helpful, our room (number 6) was clean & comfortable with two double beds, nice modern decor, t.v & ensuite shower. There wasn't any view from the window's - but then we didn't book this hotel looking for a view!! Breakfast was very nice, freshly prepared with a good selection to choose from.
Our only gripe was the price at the bar - almost £12 for three gin & tonics, so we went to the pub down the road.

We found the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable with some nice touches like a bathrobe and "au lait" toiletries. The room decor was slightly tired but we noticed that one of the rooms was undegoing redecoration during our stay. We ate at both the Willow Brasserie and La Contea bistro and had an excellent meal in both. Breakfast offered a wide choice of food for such a small hotel. Our room faced the main street but it was surprisinly quiet for an A road.
We found Selkirk a good centre for exploring the Border area and the staff at the nearby tourist information office were very helpful.
We had our bicyles with us and spent a very enjoyable time following the some of the many clearly signposted cycle routes routes in the area.

although we never satyed at the hotel we had a large family doo on the friday eve. The guys at the hotel are all so nie=ce and friendly and really good fun!! the food on offer is 1st class as is the service!! btw try the grilled swordfish mmmmm!!
anyway have been at the county several times now and always look forward to going for dinner when im in selkirk..keep up the good work guys!!! oh n patrick the chip joke was funny!!
