It was only an overnight stay for me and at £40 i wasn't expecting much.
The room was pretty much bog standard, but was clean and comfortable and so was the toilet.
Let down by an awful breakfast though!

The menu was very small and basic for a sunday afternoon.... 7 people went for this meal and 2 people had their starter around 5 mins before the rest of our starters came. When they did come the food was cold. The main again was cold and the amount of portions of veg that we were to share were small and uninteresting.... the staff were very sour faced and we had to pass the drinks down the table instead of the waitress doin her job.... on a whole the meal was very disappointing and i wouldn't recommend this hotel

This place this looks dated from the outside as well as the inside and is vastly overpriced! The tv in our room barely worked and the shower did not work at all despite complaints to reception!!! Breakfast was not bad but did not make up for a terrible nights sleep on an uncomfy matteress.

I have stayed at the George and Abbottsford, twice a year for the past 5 years! Now that in itself must say something.
Excellent service.Comfortable rooms. Great food.Very pleasing to the pocket! and the staff are excellent.I could go on but only have a few characters left.
