“Stayed here for work purposes”

I stayed here for one night for work, the staff were fantastic a real asset to the team. There is a small grey haired waitress on at night she did everything to accomodate us even though she was rushed off her feet and a young blonde girl was lovely as well. The room itself was on the top floor a bit of an attic room to be honest quite small and the bathroom was old and made funny noises and the taps would take a while to have water come through once turned on but this is an old house and to be expected. It was a single room and at £69 good value really, it had a tv with digital and hairdryer and dressing table so all you need really. I wouldnt be too happy if i got the room for a weekend event with my partner though but suited what i needed it for. One thing is i think the kettle needs changed it a very old fashioned massive thing and i found it quite clunky a nice little travel one would be perfect, also some hot chocolate in the drinks in room would be icing on cake as i dont like tea or coffee! I also found the bedding frustrating, two sheets a tiny quilt and a over throw.. Please be done with the old fashioned B&B bedding and get a nice duvet please. All in all a very clean comfy room and a good nights sleep. Breakfast was served by a lovely lady she was accomodating and even let me borrow her newspaper. Check in and out was done with ease and i will certinaly go back with my partner on a social aspect rather than a meeting booking.

I stay in hotels most weeks due to work, mainly Premier Inns and Main Chain hotels, however I was fortunate to stay in this gem!!! The food was excellent, both in the evening and breakfast. The rooms were furnished to a great standard, the staff were friendly and attentive.
It is a place I am looking forward to coming back to a relaxing weekend break, just a perfect place.

“Great Hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

I stayed at this Hotel for 5 nights and I can honestly say that it was a really pleasurable experience. I ate their every night and found the food excellent. It was all fresh and cooked to perfection. The breakfast was superb, just the thing to set you up for the day head.
The staff are very friendly and accomodating, nothing was too much trouble and they were a credit to the hotel.
My room was clean and had everything I needed for my stay. The views and the gardens were beautiful and the conservatory had grapes hanging off the vine!
You could really be picky and say that some things needed replacing or refurbishing, but It didn't affect my stay. Also you had to drive through a housing estate which was a bit bizare, but again, it didn't affect my stay.
If you are looking for a friendly hotel and good food/service, you won't go wrong here. I will definately be returning!!

I spend most weeks staying in hotels, usually the large chains so the Kingsknowes is a welcome change. The food is excellent, the breakfast is second to none, the rooms are comfortable, the staff are friendly and always helpful. I always feel welcome when I arrive.

“Great stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

The hotel is lovely and the staff are so friendly they really make your stay. We loved breakfast - there was plenty of it and it was all cooked fresh to order. The room was lovely albeit the bathroom was a little quirky! I would definitely recomment staying here,
