Stayed here in this lovely B&B while on a sea-kayaking course in the harbour. The owners, Louise and Donald, were extremely welcoming and friendly, and went out of their way to help. Breakfast was huge and extremely filling, and the bedroom was large, clean and comfortable - very cosy. Great value, and great location in the centre of town if you have a car or don't mind the hiil - recommended!

The guest house is near to the ferry, bus and train station, it 6 minute walk at most (it is up a small hill however). The rooms are very nice and the couple who run the house are really nice and helpfull, the breakfast very good. The lady did say the single room is a bit small but to me it was perfectly fine. I enjoyed me stay at glenroy very much

Stayed in at the Glenroy in Oban on way to the Highlands for 2 nights and thought it was one of the nicest guest houses we have stayed in. Louise and Donald were lovely, the whole place is absolutely immaclately clean. Whoever does the cleaning deserves a medal!

Lots of lovely little extras, lovely view from room on 1st floor and fabulous breakfasts.


Parking a real bonus in this location - not many similar properties in the area seemed to have this.

If there was a down side - the bed was probably a little firm for us - but I'm being picky here! I would recommend the Glenroy to anyone - and the walk up the hill gets easier the more you do it!

I have to admit driving up that narrow hill, I wasn't sure when I was going to find the guest house. The weather didn't look too inviting either, but yeah! Off street parking! I have to admit, if the parking area was full, parking on the street would have been quite difficult.

Louise was very welcoming and my single room was super tiny. Completely immaculate including the shower head (I love detail) . The bed looked and was very welcoming. The decor definitely brightened up the tiny space of 2.5m x 5m. The room was located underneath the stairs, which only bothered me when I noticed that as people walked up the stairs, the wooden floor boards would creak. Quite well equipped for the tiny space, and there were even cotton buds - yeah! I had run out :) Can't go wrong with little luxuries.

I wasn't in the best of moods, and had a long day and to top it all off, I had lost my suitcase key. Louise was wonderful enough to try and pick it, and Louise's husband eventually sawed it off. It was late and it really was lovely of them to help me, but what really got to me was that they actually persevered.

Louise was lovely with dinner suggestions and shortcuts walking down that hill. Breakfast was lovely as well. Not the best value, but still comfortable.
