We stayed for 2 nights in mid-October 2011 and were extremely happy with our room and the great breakfast in the morning. I’d say that it’s a good 10-15 walk along the harbor from the bus/train, especially if you’re dragging roll-aboard suitcases, but you’ll likely appreciate being not too close to the centre of town. Graeme and the staff were very friendly, but you’re pretty left to do your own thing during the day.

Room 10 is the one with the bay window above the ground floor, and there is a small table and chairs set there in which you can relax at the end of the day, perhaps enjoy a wee dram with oatcakes (as I am while writing this, wishing I was back there), and become transfixed with watching the harbor comings and goings. The room and bath are very clean, with the very modernized latter going well with the older period design of the former. You can tell that Graeme has a good attention to detail and has put a lot of effort and expense into the room.

This would be my first choice on a return trip – the high scores and favorable comments are well justified. You will not be disappointed.

I stayed for one evening in the Glenburnie and was delighted with every aspect of the service and accommodation. Undoubtedly it is in my view the best guest house or hotel I have stayed in during my very many trips to Oban over the last 20 years. The member of staff who greeted me on my arrival on a very wet evening in October had a wonderfully warm and welcoming manner, the immediate impact on arrival was of a stylish, well maintained and tastful decor and the room I stayed in was beautiful. The owner clearly is strongly committed to customer satisfaction. Will be recommending the Glenburnie to friends and relatives.

On our visit to Oban I booked on-line Via Graeme.
This was well catered for, carried out with such class leading skills.
I asked if I could leave my car at the Hotel in the morning as we were going on the 'Three Islands Trip' from the ferryport very close by (Highly recommend the trip aswell) and this was made clear it was no problem at all.
I also asked if it was ok for us to check-in late in the evening (as the trip returns to Oban about 9pm) and again, no problem at all.
After our arrival back from the tour ,we popped into Oban for something to eat (Excellent fish and chips) and eventually arrived at the Glenburnie about 9.45PM.
We were greeted and shown our rooms (A double + a Twin room for our friend who came with us).

at a really EXCELLENT PRICE I should add.
EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING was well above standard...This place should have 7star rating.
From beginning to end, we LOVED IT and without a doubt, will be driving all the way from Leicester to stay there again next year.
Whats more, our stay was CHEAPER than the Travelodge we stopped in, on our way home!!
