We stayed in the Caledonian Hotel on the 25th November for 2 nights using a "Group on" voucher. We have seen some comments that people using Group on do not get sea view rooms.
This is not the case for us, we had a view of the harbour. The room was lovely with a large bathroom.
We had problems with the heating and this was resolved straight away by the Hotels "handyman"
Breakfast was very good, good choice of continental foods and the option for cooked breakfast as well.
Staff were extremely pleasant and professional.
The only downside (and this has been in several reviews over the years) please clean the windows!!!!

Stayed here for just the one night whilst passing through Oban. Paid £55 for a single room, room was a good size, newly decorated and very clean! Only downside to the room was that the window which faced the street at the back of the hotel was so filthy that I literally couldn't see anything through it! Im guessing it hadn't been cleaned since the beginning of last season! Other than that the stay was well up to scratch for the price I paid. Location is also very handy for the bus stop from Glasgow, the train station and the ferry terminal.

short 2 night stay - great vale at £89 per couple per night which included 3 course meal breakfast and 4 free drink vouchers each per night.

Passing through this town we needed somewhere comfortable after a day's driving and somewhere welcoming and big enough for us and the woof. We took a suite with its own dressing room, office and an enormous bathroom bigger than most London hotel rooms! Its tiled floor perfect for the woof.
There was a welcome tray of fruit and biscuits and we felt very well tended to (dog bed and bowls also provided). The enormous four poster was a treat too.
Breakfast was a tad disappointing - underwhelming after such a great room and not enough staff to cope with a busy dining room, but we still got fed.
I was reading Iain Banks' Raw Spirit at the time and it seems he stayed here too a few years back in a similar suite but with a turret too.
