Used the restaurant only for a three course lunch. Reasonable food that is reasonably priced. Great service from friendly staff but the restaurant and toilets are in need of a lick of paint.

Great fun in the bar during Feb and Oct Highland Cattle Sales. Good food, comfortable rooms, great breakfast, you cannot beat it !!

We were with a coach party of 22 people travelling on a David Urquhart Travel package over Christmas 2011. The driver, Alan, was an ever present inside the hotel and went out of his way to ensure that we had a good time both on the coach, the included tours and inside the hotel.

Upon arrival, we were met by a hotel representative who came on board the coach and allocated room numbers. All the keys were on the reception desk ready to hand over. There is a lift which took us up to our floor. Upon entering the room, we were pleased with adequate lighting and the very clean appearance. The en-suite bathroom was small but well equipped with shower. During our stay, toiletries (soap, shower gel and shampoo, etc.) were well maintained.

Food in the hotel was excellent with both coffee, snacks, self serve lunch and full table service dinner with far too much to eat. There was also a full choice self serve Scottish breakfast with as much as you could eat.

The weather was foul - rain and gales. The hotel proved entertainment in the evening with quiz games and bingo during the day.

Hotels in Oban are not great and this one is no different from the rest. They are all tired and poorly looked after but they are friendly :) In scotland its the necessity of a bed for the night and thats that....you wont find better...but let me know if you do though! Someone please buy all the hotels in Oban...paint them a pretty colour to cheer the place up and completely renovate the lot! PLEASEEE!!!!!

My room this weekend consisted of a shower covered in mould, a shower curtain that when wet leached something yukki into the bath, a bed sheet with holes in it!, a TV that barely worked, dim lights that were not worth turning on and a cracked single glazed window! :(

Breakfast is good though! :)
