Hotels in Oban are not great and this one is no different from the rest. They are all tired and poorly looked after but they are friendly :) In scotland its the necessity of a bed for the night and thats that....you wont find better...but let me know if you do though! Someone please buy all the hotels in Oban...paint them a pretty colour to cheer the place up and completely renovate the lot! PLEASEEE!!!!!

My room this weekend consisted of a shower covered in mould, a shower curtain that when wet leached something yukki into the bath, a bed sheet with holes in it!, a TV that barely worked, dim lights that were not worth turning on and a cracked single glazed window! :(

Breakfast is good though! :)

Just back from a great weekend with friends at the Royal Hotel in Oban. The staff could not have been better. We had a themed dance on the Saturday night. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. The tables were beautifully dressed in-keeping with our theme. Lunch was provided at our request and served in the Tryst - a lovely comfortable room on the ground floor - excellent value. We will certainly be back.

got a cheap b and b deal as others have said hotel is old style ,staff friendly and helpful but wouldnt recommend you stay here .room was small and basic as was the decor in the bathroom .bar meal was just ok but breakfast was nice

What can i say very impressed good value for money. breakfast and evening meals first class
