My partner & i who are a young couple chose the Kings Knoll based purely on attempting to find somewhere with character, which encapsulated a flavour of Oban & experiencing something of the local community. We have stated at many of the hotels in Oban over the years including the Queens, Columba, & many B&B's.
After a bit of a gamble in chossing somewhere out of the norm, away from one of the larger, characterless, more well known hotels, we certainly were impressed in EVERY aspect of what The Kings Knoll offered.
Great staff, great service, & great food (nothing pretentious). The room we chose (22) was extremely spacious with everything catered for, including tea, coffee, biscuits, welcome package, hair dryer - for the Mrs, & of course the wonderful view!! The room was imacculate with no signs of misuse, dirt or damage whatsoever. The walk-in shower is massive also - you could swing a cat in there! Tom (the Manager) left a box of locally made chocolates & a bottle of chapagne chilling in the room for our arrival as requested. The local chocolates are delightful. It even included an Irn-Bru flavour one, haha!
The staff were amazing! Tom & Graham met our every need, even leaving the bar open later & met our request of sticky toffee pudding at 11pm at night just to accommodate us.
Overall a wee gem in the highland town of Oban & we shall most definately be back! :)
