“Outstanding - would recommend without a second thought”

You sometimes read a review of a place and wonder whether it really can be that good. Rudha-Na-Craige is. I's owners, Howard and Susan, are fantastic hosts. The rooms are excellent. Howard and Susan really are fabulous for sharing local knowledge and suggesting places to visit and routes to take to see the most of the area. They are generous too - no skimping on the breakfasts and plenty of supplies in the room! On arrival Howard brewed us up some coffee and put out some biscuits for us, which was very much appreciated after the drive out. Lots of personal, friendly touches are what makes this place really special.

The location is fabulous, a great base to start from if you want to venture further down into Argyll, but not too long a drive out from Glasgow either. With the breathtaking views of "Rest and Be Thankful" on the way to and from Inveraray, this is certainly a trip worth making if you only have a few days in Scotland and this would be the ideal place to stay. We visited very much out of the main tourist season, but there was still plenty to do.

The owners have organised guest membership for the spa/pool/sauna/steam room at the Loch Fyne hotel and spa next door (a two minute walk up the road) which is open from 7am-7pm. So, you get the perks of a major hotel, but with the personal touches of a b&b. Rudha-Na-Craige is certainly one of those b&b's that you stay in and wonder, 'Will we get anywhere as good as this again?'

Room Tip: We stayed in the Strathmore, a spacious room with a view out over Loch Fyne.

“Wonderful Experience”

We stayed here as part of our 30th Anniversary trip and were spoiled rotten! Howard & Susan have a wonderful location and the accommodations were luxurious. It is located a short walk outside of Inveraray proper with a lovely view of Loch Fyne. Our first evening we stayed in and watched a movie in the guest parlor. Howard asked if we'd like some tea or coffee. We were delighted when he served it on a lovely tray with cookies. Breakfast was wonderful and again served very nicely. It is those touches that raised our experience from very nice to extraordinary. We highly recommend Rudha-Na-Craige.

My fiance and I stayed at this B&B on 11th November after reading all the excellent reviews on this site. We weren't disappointed! In fact this is the first time I've ever written a review. The room was beautiful and relaxing and the breakfast as good as any hotel I have ever stayed in. What was really invaluable to us was Howard's knowledge of the local area. We were travelling on to Stirling after our stay and Howard was able to direct us through some fantastic sights that just wouldn't have even known they were there without his advice. We saw waterfalls and rivers and a castle on a lake so a huge thank you to Howard.

“Fantastic B&B...Better than any hotel.”

Beautiful location, beautiful room with superb facillities and that extra personal touch you don't get with a hotel. If you're looking for somewhere to stay in the Inveraray area you would be foolish to go anywhere else. An excellent choice for breakfast and a warm welcome made for a lovely weekend away.

“excellent short break with outstanding room and view”

The room we stayed in was the cairngorm it was absolutely spot on as we were shown into the room by Howard the view was amazing and it definitely had the wow factor it was very comfortable, very clean and well presented. The breakfast was brill, with choice of cereals, fresh fruits, yogurts, full scottish breakfast, kippers, omelet, porridge and Howard's homemade bread (yummy). I did have the scottish breakfast everyday and it was excellent, my husband tried the kippers on more than one occasion and said they were the best he had ever eaten. Howard's knowledge of the area helped us get around, this was our very first visit to Scotland and it looks like we will be going again the scenery was amazing. Would recommend this B&B to anyone we received a very warm welcomed into Howard and Susan's home and thoroughly enjoyed our short stay.
