Stopped off here for a meal as it looked quiet and charming wish I never bothered I have never felt so unwelcome in a place ever.Basil Fawlty could learn a few things here.I won't be back which is a pity as its a nice little spot

We did not stay at this hotel but went for a meal. The meal was ok but overpriced for the quality. However the lady who served us who appeared to be the manager or owner was not pleasant or friendly and was the same to other guests. The waitresses were all lovely but the same woman was rude to them. When you go for a meal staff should always make you feel welcome and not a burden which is the way we felt. I'd agree with the reviewer who said take a picnic to the beach instead at least you won't be annoyed with rude service!

Stayed in one of the hotel’s static caravans for a week in July. Located about 10 feet from the beach and a 30 second walk from the hotel, they are beautifully clean and really well equipped. The decking outside is perfect for watching spectacular sunsets over Islay and Jura. The hotel is great – friendly and welcoming staff and well-priced, tasty food. Such a great place, am wary of telling people about it – would like to keep it to ourselves!

Hotel's main attraction is its location and dining conservatory which is right on the beach; the views are superb and the hotel provided 2 binoculars for use of guests which was nice touch. While we were there the large beach was deserted; one lone surfer was all we saw. We stayed for 2 nights. Our room had a sea view, but not the full beach panorma, I think there may be other rooms with a better view. Food was fine but nothing special; my wife did not like the breakfast coffee from the machine. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bar was small and cosy and had darts which we found fun.

The hotel is on its own so no other facilties; need to go into Campbeltown for shopping. It is on the main road but set back so it is quiet.

All in all I would definitely go back for a few days if mainly for the views.
