A very friendly, family run hotel with just a great bunch of guys working there.
The bar and dining room was filled with "locals" probably because the food was excellent. Our room was clean and comfortable and the hotel grounds were a knockout.

We will be back!

Fantastic food (when it came) and beautiful grounds, but rooms shabby and old. The hotel is apparently under new management who may not be suited to the hospitality industry! Most members of staff were fantastic, but one man in particular (owner?) was rude, abrasive and obnoxious and nearly ruined our weekend. They are ridiculously inflexible which was funny at first, but began to grate- ie. unable to put two tables together in an empty dining room to accommodate a larger group and unable to take breakfast order as the gentleman was 'only doing the tea and coffee order'.
Two of our party had to be moved from their room as it had been double booked- this wasn't a problem for them, but the room they were put in had only a single bed. While they were away from the room other guests overheard the afore-mentioned man loudly swearing and complaining that he had to put up a 'z bed'!
Nice surroundings, great food- but we were made to feel unwelcome and a hindrance.

Just the place for a relaxing break.
Meals were excellent. The staff was very friendly. The gardens are beautiful. Rooms were comfortable and very quiet at night.

This is a great place to spend a quiet weekend, rooms are okay, reataurant is very good, nice bar and conservatory area.

meals are good and hearty, with warm and welcoming staff. seems to be a popular spot with the locals, which is always a good sign.

not too pricey, and far enough away out of the town to be really peacefull at night. Close enough to the golf course and a really good fishing spot almost next door
