I stayed at this hotel but not by choice. I spend 6 nights here on a business trip, and it was probably the worst sleep I've ever had. The bed was quite lumpy and the cleanliness led alot to be desired. The food was bland and tasteless and boring. I don't think this hotel should call itself a hotel. They have alot of work to do!

Stayed here for cousings wedding Paid extra for aa executive room If this was an executive room I wouldnt like to see the normal rooms Shower in bathromm was falling off the wall Bath side panel had seen better days Cobwebs on ceiling in bedroom On the good side the bed was big and clean Breakfast was good ( not buffet style which I like)All in all If the wedding was not there (not far to stotter) I would have stayed somewhere else

I stayed here for 2 nights on Bussiness July 11.

Firstly the location - right in the middle of town and extreemly well placed for all the shops coffee establishments etc etc. Large car park as well so theres no issues with the car. Receptionist very friendly and attentive.

Rooms possibly a bit on the small side but very cosy / comfortable. The TVs are flat lcd digital ones with all the freeview channels (a real bonus when compared with the Waterside where I stayed 2 weeks ago). Theres no Iron / Ironing board but available via reception ( Bit of a crap iron though !).

Best feature was the incredibly cheerfull chambermaid in our corridor - very uplifting and even open to giving one an extra packet of biscuits if you ask - real asset to the place. The main bar was reasonably busy, and had a good atmosphere. Breakfast was very nice - large tasty and cooked to order.

Downside. Mainly no free wifi. Having stayed at the Waterside 2 weeks ago decided to give them a miss this time due to their rip off wifi prices - and the Palace is no better. I asked about it and told that the chains big expensive 4 star hotel Buchan Braes had it. Dont see why you have to spend £100 a night to get free wifi - McDonalds do it free in their place half a mile away for a 99p burger !! Secondly we were working late evenings and tried to sleep a bit in the day and its difficult as there is a car park behind the hotel. There was a car with the stereo blaring out - dissapointingly the driver was a hotel worker (should know better ?).

But overall the hotel is ok - comfy and convenient for the town with a good bar and breakfast. Wifi would be nice tho......

I stayed here for work for roughly 2 weeks, it doesn't look much from the outside but inside it's very nice and quite big, there are 2 restaurants, one upmarket and a sports bar (which gets quite lively), although both are quite pricey, i had a beef burger which cost roughly 13 pounds, although it was nice! The breakfast which is inclusive of the rate is the best hotel breakfast i have tasted, and i have tasted many! The rooms are very stylish, small but adequate, huge flat screen TV, good comfy bed and nice bathroom. No free internet for customers tho, which they should provide. Staff are great, always happy to help, even gave me a plate,knife & fork for my take away's i brought back to the room.
