“Wouldn't hurry back!”

Stay resonably local to hotel so decided to go for family lunch. I ordered Chicken fillets and husband ordered Beef Burger, asking for cheese on top. Meals came, mine with 4 chicken fillets and small pile of chips, husbands with plain burger (resembeled something from McDonalds) no cheese, and handfull of chips. Not even a drop of salad on plate. When paying (£9.95 for fillets) I mentioned that although they tasted nice there wre only 4, no salad and poor presentation therefore overpriced - waitress didn't seem interested. Will not be in a hurry to go back!

“wonderful stay... again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

We stayed in The Gilmore Suite this time last year after our wonderful wedding and it was just brilliant. This year, for our anniversary, we stayed in The Banffshire Suite and we were not disappointed. These suites have been beautifully refurbished with a quirky glam style not out of place in a trendy city hotel. The difference is these rooms have the added benefit of stunning views of the sea. Last year we caught a glimpse of dolphins swimming from our window.

The staff are lovely and the restaurant and bar, despite being quieter in comparison to what we are used to in the capitol, have a warm atmosphere and once again stunning sea views.

Room Tip: Both the newly refurbished suites are fantastic and lots of fun!

“A night away with Fireworks galore”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

My wife and I decided to go down the coast from Inverness to Banff earlier this month for a night away.

From looking at the newspaper there appeared to be quite a lot going on in Banff - a Firework Display, an Antique Fair and the opportunity to visit Duff House. After looking through various sites we decided to stay overnight at the Banff Springs.

We were very pleased with the rate offered and thr room allocated. The satff were very welcoming and helpful - especially those in the restaurant. We decided to have dinner in the restaurant after attending the Round Table Firework Display. The meal was very good and reasonably priced. As mentioned earlier the service was first class. Very friendly and welcoming to strangers. This from youngish staff. Was this just natural from locals and/or good staff training ?

Although there was a wedding reception going on in the hotel there was no noise filtering up to the rooms and we were treated to a second firework display courtesy of the wedding party.

Overall a great short break made even more enjoyable having a great base to go back to. Hope to return before too long.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a sea view.

“A Grand Hotel in a beautiful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

A grand hotel but at a high price not least its cafes, bars and restaurants. It has views to die for and the concierge goes out of the way to be helpful. There is a heated outdoor swimming pool that you can see the stars from.

Perhaps it is a Canadian thing but heating rooms by a fan system means it is either to hot or cold. Being someone who hates air conditioning I would not be an advocate.

Banff is an amazing place not to be missed and the hotel is amazing but not if you are on a strict budget

Room Tip: Avoid noisy corridors
