I was put into the Dunnydeer by the company about a year ago and now always stay there if I can. The place is spotless and well furnished. Try and get room 1 or 2 or 5 if you can as they are ensuite although all the rooms are good. The breakfasts are superb although dont expect to walk away without gaining a bit of weight. They are also quite accomodating. Try the rowies which are a type of local salted breadroll and are delicious, a bit like indian roties. It's run by Barbara and her Mom and they are always good for a Blether (scottish for gossiping apparently) The place is situated in the west end and surrounded by other good B&B's. There are good resteraunts right across the street and two bars within a minute(Mariner is the best one), Bus stop is at the door and taxis can be got usually in about 15 minutes normally. Having said that, the area although central is quite quiet and the buildings are lovely old granite edifices. I have a thing about cleanliness and Barbara keeps the place absolutly spotless. Aberdeen is a pain when you need to find accomodation. You have to book 2 weeks in advance for almost anywhere so if you land up arriving on a monday and looking for a place, expect to spend a lot of time on the phone. Gt Western Rd has about 20 B&B's and although I've only stayed in a couple, they were all quite good. They are handy for most areas, other areas are Bon Accord terrace which is better for the south side and Crown Street which is a bit rough. If you are working at dyce, there are some places there too but I prefer the west end as you can walk into the centre from there.
They have wireless and ADSL available and offroad parking although only for a couple of cars.
I stay in a lot of B&B's and cant stand places that are grubby, inhospitable or skimp on food. The dunnydeer for me is excellent. Warning, dont conact them by email, babs never reads the dam things, better to phone
