“Great Food - Good Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2010

Surprised to find no recent reviews of this Hotel. We didn't actually stay here but came for an evening meal. Athough there was a wedding reception taking place, the entourage, guests etc were in a totally separate part of the hotel so we didn't feel as if we were intruding. The food choice on the menu was First Class ... we both started with the filo wrapped black pudding & apple ensemble which was la substantial & tasty starter. My partner went on to have a well done steak with all the trimmings which was well presented and very well received . I chose the salmon teryaki on a noodle base & this dish was totally mouth watering. The pudding was a delight as the Old Mill would appear to be one of very few hotels who know how to make Scottish "Cranachan" properly .... just the right blend of raspberries, cream, oatmeal etc set off with a nice chunk of home made shortbread. We asked for 2 coffees and were peased to be given a well sized cafitiere between us & accompanied by home made Scottish tablet. All in all a faultless meal, great service & very reasonable prices ..... we've already booked for next weekend (Valentine's!). We are well used to eating out in Aberdeen & Inverness & the Old Mill Inn is well up on our list of favourite places ... defintely worth venturing out of the City Centre & we both it was much better than some of the most expensive restaurants in Aberdeen City

“Wedding at Old Mill Inn”

We got married at the Old Mill Inn on the 16th June 2006. We want to let you know what a fantastic day they provided for us, and seeing that there is nowhere on there official site we just thought we would write on here. They cannot do enough for you, the food is fantastic, myself and my husband Gary would recommend anyone to hold there wedding here, the package deals are worth every penny. Staff were very friendly and we would just like to say a big thank you to Victor who kept everything running like clockwork. The rooms were perfect although the only problem we found was that we had both sets of parents either side of our room, big mistake. Thank you again for our wonderful day and please stay here when you can.

“Good...as usual”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 March 2007

I stayed at The Old Mill again this week and can report that normal service prevails...ie. clean, comfortable room, good food and compared with central Aberdeen hotels, very good value.
The Old Mill is approximately 6 miles from the city and is in a very pleasant rural position next to the River Dee.
I shall stay there again next time I am in Aberdeen.

“Oldie but Goodie”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2006

Overall ambiance is of an old fashioned hotel, but it's wearing well. Everything was very clean, food was good, didn't have any "American Werewolf" moments in the bar from the locals. Overall, very good value. Everyone efficient and friendly. Would stay there again

“very hospitable!”

Very charming place, although located quite a ways out of town. The staff were very accommodating, as we had difficulties getting there and arrived quite late. The young woman on the phone was kind and courteous, gave us directions, and they patiently waited for us--and kept the bar open a few minutes late to let us have a much needed drink! The room was nice and quite clean, the breakfast was quite good, and the price was reasonable. I'd stay again if I was in the area.
