“Superb Accommodation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 March 2010

This is a lovely guesthouse, right in the centre of Stonehaven, but set far enough back so that traffic noise never intrudes. Our room, a little small for a double (acknowleged by owner, to be fair) was delightful, well-appointed and an exceptional en-suite shower room provided a welcome conclusion to our busy day. We appreciated the free Wi-Fi access - not something that can be taken as read, even in quite big hotels.
Breakfast was a delight, sitting in the conservatory dining room.
Car parking could be a problem. We were lucky and found a space immediately across the road.
Overall, great value for money in a lovely house with a most welcoming host. Highly recommended.

“A wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2009

We spent our second to last evening on our recent Scotland trip, at the Arduthie Guest House, and thouroughly enjoyed our stay. Stonehaven is about a half hour to 45 min drive (depending on Aberdeen traffic) south of Aberdeen, and located in an old harbor town, within walking distance of one of my favorite castles -Dunnottar. The Arduthie Guest house is in the middle of town, with a nicely landscaped garden and bright and cheery greenhouse/breakfast room.

Our room was on the 3rd floor, and had a wonderful view of Stonehaven and the harbor. The room was newly decorated, with a modern bathroom/shower, which looked amazing. There was also a free wi-fi connection in the room, which was our 13 year old son's highlight. And the breakfast was delicious. Most importantly, the coffee was the best coffee we had during our 2 1/2 week trip throughout northern Scotland and the Shetlands. We really enjoyed our stay and hospitality.

“Perfect B and B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2008

Delightful B and B in this small town a few miles south of Aberdeen. House doubles as a lovely art galley. Quiet and very comfortable twin room with large en suite. Welcoming host who took the trouble to secure some haddock for the second night of our stay and ensured we had all the necessary information to enjoy this lovely part of Scotland.. Easy access to Aberdeen makes this the ideal way to avoid the expesive accomodation of that City.

“Wonderful Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2008

We booked 2 nights at the Arduthie House and were very pleased with our stay. Kathleen and Denis only recently purchased the house and converted the lower level into an art gallery.
Our room was located on the top floor with fabulous views of the town and ocean. The room was tastefully decorated with what we learned later was the owner’s own private art collection. The room had everything you could hope for—quality linens, a clean, remodeled bathroom, as well as little touches like Denby mugs with hot chocolate and a variety of teas and coffee.
What we enjoyed most about breakfast was Denis’ Americano coffees. It was definitely the best coffee we had in all of Ireland and Scotland.
We would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a place to relax only a couple of blocks from the Stonehaven waterfront or a convenient location in which to explore Aberdeen.

This lovely B&B is located in a charming small village. The owners are very sympathetic. The rooms are huge with everything you need (even whisky!!), the breakfast is delicious.
