I needed 3 nights accommodation in Aberdeen for business reasons. The whole city was booked up but I found the Aberdeen Larches on the internet.

The booking was easy and friendly.

My travel plans changed at the last minute meaning that I had to cancel 2 of my nights. This was accepted and I didn't lose any money.

I had room 2 on the ground floor which was fine, an en-suite bathroom where the wash handbasin was too small and no place to hang towels. The shower was good apart from the intermittent hot water.

I had dinner in the restaurant as there is nothing worth seeing outside the hotel. In fact the taxi driver warned me not to go out after dark! The menu was extensive and I had difficulty choosing only one dish!! The food was great, chicken broth soup followed by gammon steak and egg with chips and salad. The service was good too. I had the Boddingtons beer which was excellent.

The only real down side was the other guests. Someone was tramping up and down the corridor in the early hours which meant I had little sleep. It always amazes me how inconsiderate other people can be when staying in hotels.

A good range for breakfast but my diet dictated cereal, tea and toast. Such a shame as the cooked breakfast looked so tempting!

If I stay there again I will ask for a different room so I don't get woken up by the ignorant noisy guests.

Taxi from the city centre to hotel was about £10 (GBP 10) so if planning to go into the city the cost would stack up. But the bar and restaurant were ok places to hang out for the evening.

Stayed here for one night on business. Found the hotel to be very good. Staff where helpful and friendly. The room was excellent. Well designed, very clean and decorated to a high standard. Was surprised. The food was also very good, however the room rate mid week was a bit on the high side. That is Aberdeen for you though. With a constant stream of Oil workes coming and going rates tend to be alot higher.

Spent a night here as everything else in Aberdeen was booked. City very busy just now which is why places like this can overcharge. Well outside the city center but encouraged by other reviews. My room was between reception and a utility room where they seemed to have a dishwasher (loaded at 1am but someone with tuberculosis from the sound of it), outside I had the bins, on the other side of the corridor the bar restaurant. Arrived on a cold, very wet day and they didn't even have the central heating on. On the plus side, the breakfast was good.

I recently stayed in this delightful hotel with a colleague on business for 3 nights. The staff were helpful, friendly and courteous during our stay. We were given the recently refurbished bedrooms which have been finished to a high standard and proved very comfortable. Initially we were unsure about having an evening meal in such a small local hotel however we were delighted by the top restaurant presentation and quality of our food with a good choice and range.
My overall experience was excellent with only a minor downside was due to limited parking at the rear of the hotel however the staff were helpful in negotiating space.
We came across this hotel on the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary website and is only a 10 minute taxi / car journey away from the hospital. I was surprised that there was no star rating which I would have given 4 stars. I will be going back to Aberdeen on business and will definitely be booking back into the Larches
