I recently stayed in this delightful hotel with a colleague on business for 3 nights. The staff were helpful, friendly and courteous during our stay. We were given the recently refurbished bedrooms which have been finished to a high standard and proved very comfortable. Initially we were unsure about having an evening meal in such a small local hotel however we were delighted by the top restaurant presentation and quality of our food with a good choice and range.
My overall experience was excellent with only a minor downside was due to limited parking at the rear of the hotel however the staff were helpful in negotiating space.
We came across this hotel on the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary website and is only a 10 minute taxi / car journey away from the hospital. I was surprised that there was no star rating which I would have given 4 stars. I will be going back to Aberdeen on business and will definitely be booking back into the Larches

First point to note - hotel accomodation is Aberdeen as a whole is hard to come by. The Larches is a Guest House that has undergone extensions "out the back" to accomodate the Bar and Reception areas and an outdoor patio area - vital for any remaining smokers. It may not be what some people would expect from a hotel, although there is someone there 24 hours a day.

The staff are all very friendly, the food was fine - as were the bar prices - and the hotel was clean and tidy. Rooms were fine, but the shower deserves mention - hot water took some time to get to the room, there was a lack of towels to place on the floor (which will get wet from the shower) - and the step into the showers is not for the faint-hearted. I had left my camera behind, but I will post the few photos I took with my phone, although the shower photos sadly did not come out.

The hotel is a bit outside of town, so you will need a bus to get to the town centre (15 minute journey) or a taxi (every journey seemed to cost £7!). If you arrive late, there are a few takaway places just around the corner from the hotel, but the local pub(s) are best avoided. Stay in the hotel or go into town instead. There is a nice fish restaurant overlooking the beach, if you do go into town, and a nice Indian restaurant, as well as the usual fast food places.

Would I stay there again? Yes.

staying here really made me feel welcome in aberdeen. The staff are wonderful and every room is spotleslly clean. it was a delight to eat in the homely yet brilliant restaurant. the food was delicious no matter what I had and the chef always tried to put something on the menu I loved. The waiting staff were smart, friendly and full of smiles. It is owned by lovely people who appreciated every guest and it really was great to be treated as a human rather than a room number. I reccomend this down to earth hotel, the decor is lovely and i know that staying here will make your visit to aberdeen worthwhile.

The place is an absolute gem - the welcome you get and the hospitality are outstanding.

The rooms are spacious and well equipped - and if you require anything you only have to ask.

The meals and service too are good from the friendly owners and staff
