Have stayed at the Highland on several trips to Aberdeen Now. The rooms have been tastefully re done, Bar and Food is great. All the staff are very helpful (No milk in my room the lady in reception did not have a problem getting me some) Breakfast staff was very good, and chirpy, the manager can be a bit grumfy sometimes but all in all this is an excellant family run hotel.

Stayed at the hotel as always through work,all the girls in the bar are great ,cant do enough for you as a rule,only problem was i left an i pod in the room,phoned up reception 3 hrs later (11am) to explain id left item in room and could reception go and check room for my i pod before the room was re let,was told someone will check room,when i phoned back i pod had disappeared,and i was left feeling frustrated that they said i cant have left it or it would be there.i must of lost it some were else,i was told that i would "have to prove i had left it in the room" ,which obviously you never record a hotel room before you leave it,so there was no chance of me being believed,if there are any problems at this hotel,they will never get resolved with this kind iof attitude towards customers,it's a good job the oil industry needs hotels in Aberdeen,as im sure this hotel wouldn't survive to long with out it based on customer satisfaction from this website,after a dissapointing discussion where i was told i was getting a bit upset,which i was ,as id had my sons i pod "vanish" from thin air,then i recieved a phone call from my company saying they would allow me to stay there again as long as i didnt make an issue out of it,a very bad taste in my mouth ,but hey ,who would care!! this hotel could be so much better!!! the choice is yours .

Most staff friendly food good but have had it better in the past. Check in ok apart from lady eating at the desk as we were checking not a good look when your checking into a hotel. Room clean and tidy. Bar and restaurant people friendly and always happy to help.

I was there for one night and that was more than enough. The reception is unmanned and you have to ring for someone to come. After waiting ages a grumpy woman arrived and informed us that she had to man the bar as well and it was basically an inconvenience to come to reception so could we please deal with all our issues now rather than her coming back later.

The hotel stank of old food, dark, dingy and the bedroom was borderline clean. The breakfast was just dried leftovers and when you ask for anything you are made to feel like you are inconveniencing them.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Only good feature is it's location.
