I stayed with a group of colleagues at the Ardoe House hotel for 2 nights and we spend one night with the group at the hotel for dinner. This hotel, typical Scottish style castle, with a touch of the French motherchain, is located a 10-15 taxiride outside Aberdeen. The surroundings are lovely and quiet. The hotel rooms may need a few upgrades. I slept in a room at the far end of the corridor (about 5 minutes walk to reach the reception and breakfast area), nicely quiet, though not very convenient when time is limiting. The room - in my opinion - does not deserve the Mercure quality label, but is neither of a too bad quality. I missed a minibar, or anything of snacks and drinks, the windows were not opening well, the heater was set on a very high level and the bed was not designed for tall people.. Anyway, breakfast was really good, as well as the bar and the client friendliness at the reception. In summary, good place to stay for a few nights.
